Managed infrastructure with IBM Cloud OpenStack Services
Abstract: In this paper, we discuss how OpenStackÂŽ, an open source cloud computing software platform, can be used to deliver a managed private cloud by describing the IBM Cloud OpenStack Services offering. IBM Cloud OpenStack Services is an enterprise-class infrastructure-as-a-service, running on OpenStack in a selection of worldwide IBM SoftLayerÂŽ data centers. This managed service provides the necessary levels of control so that businesses can focus on applications and services, not on the infrastructure and cloud management systems beneath them. We discuss the design challenges that customers encounter when choosing managed private clouds and illustrate an architecture that addresses these challenges using open source technologies.
