I have used my academic design studios to interrogate the role architecture plays in forming or informing the human experience. I’m interested in effects and affects architecture can impose on the human body-how light and form influence memory.

wOlf’BlAnket
Wolf’Blanket was a design-build assignment which interpreted two words--- an animal and a spatial device--- and translated them into architecture. Using the instinctual behaviour of the animal, and in deliberately employing the phenomenon of the spatial device, this group project posited that everyday wall assemblies have become outwardly normalized while remaining inwardly complex for those that may create them. Further, we asserted that architecture has become too dependent on visual stimuli. We created a two-sided wall: one pleasant and the other unpleasant. An illuminated “softbox” wall provided a tasteful place for meeting, but was filled with rotting raw meet, revealed on its transverse side. We wanted to test how long people would engage in architectural pleasantries without being fully cognizant of the space they occupied.
