INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOOK •Title: The Canterville Ghost. • Author: Oscar Wilde. • Publishing House: Richmond • Main Characters: -Hiriam Otis (Mr. Otis) was a practical man. He respected individual effort and the power of money. -Mrs. Otis was a good – looking, energetic woman in her middle age. -Washington Otis, the eldest son, was an attractive young man whit fair hair and a talent for dancing. He worked for Pinkerston’s Chemical Company. - Miss Virginia Otis was a lovely girl of fifteen with large blue eyes. Virginia was as energetic as her mother. She loved horse riding. - The twins, who were usually called the “Stars and Stripes”. These two charming and mischievous boys. - Mr. Simon: The Phantom (main character in the story), lives haunted by the murder of his wife and therefore has q wander around the house until someone save your soul. - Mrs. Ummey: The maiden helpful and obedient but are terrorized by the ghost. - Lord Canterville: Previous owner of the mansion, which always shows the sincerity and appreciation for Otis. - The Duke of Cheshire, girlfriend and future wife Virginia.

•Summary: The book tells the story of a family, the Otis family, buying a new home, Canterville Chase. The old owner, Lord Canterville, warns them that the house is haunted by a ghost, Sir Simon de Canterville who roams the mansion since he killed his wife. The Otis family, regardless of that, they will live there and laugh at the ghost, not scare them with his jokes. The twins don't let ghost, and tired of the jokes, he was furious and asked for help to Virginia to leave this house. Virginia helps giving a peaceful death.

•Personal Opinion: I liked the book a lot, because I expected it to be so by the attitude of the characters. The book hooked you to read because you wanted to know what happened after each chapter. Has been very entertaining.
