Su m m a ry:
The novel begins with the purchase of the mansion called The Canterville Ghost; this is bought by Mr. Otis, the owner Lond Canterville warns them that a ghost lives there. Since the Otis family is installed in the mansion strange things start happening. A ghost lived there for 300 years; it was Sir Simon, who roamed the mansion after killing his wife. But the Otis family ignores all these stories, but on arriving at the mansion fined the spot in front of the fireplace, Washintong cleaned the spot but reappeared every morning. The ghost tries to scare the family but they are the ones that really scared because I do a lot of dirty tricks the ghost and ends up depressed. One day the ghost was no solution to their problem was the library, meeting Virginia. Mr Simon told him it was the Canterville family and that his soul would rest only when the prophecy was fulfilled, this meant that Virginia had to mourn for the sins of the ghost and pray to him for his soul and the specter of death pity on him and be at rest forever. Virginia accepted. Mr Simon took up a wall of the room disappeared and became a great black cloud crossed turning to reseal the wall. And so ends the story, Virginia saved the ghost and realized that he had saved when the almond tree blossomed.
Personal opinion: The story of The Canterville Ghost is a bit surreal in my point of view.
The truth is that history is funny because it is unusual to see a ghost that frightened by the people and not the reverse. I think it's an original story and to me surprised that is unconventional. I enjoyed reading it and know something more of the works of Oscar Wilde.
