“ “
Laure QUÉDILLAC, Managing Director of the IÉSEG Foundation and Director of Corporate Relations at IÉSEG
PERSPECTIVES
of Caroline Roussel and Laure Quédillac
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE FOUNDATION’S MAIN MISSION?
Caroline Roussel : The Foundation has been in existence for the last ten years with the mission of enabling all young people, whatever their background, to join the high-quality academic programmes at IÉSEG. It has three main aims: to provide financial assistance to students who need it throughout their time at IÉSEG or as soon as they join; to support the School’s programme of excellence so that the brightest students can study at prestigious universities such as Harvard or Yale; and to help student
entrepreneurs develop their business by giving them a financial boost.
Laure Quédillac : The Foundation’s mission is to set up all the actions dedicated to social inclusion in order to support students in financial difficulty, facilitate access to higher education and enable young people who would not have embarked upon this course of action due to a lack of knowledge of the various courses or due to a lack of confidence to enter IÉSEG. The Foundation is fully in line with its strategic plan and supports IÉSEG’s mission.
“The Foundation positions itself as a catalyst for synergies and collaboration with our graduates, partner companies, parents and friends of IÉSEG.”
WHAT ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL VALUES THAT GUIDE THE FOUNDATION’S ACTIONS?
Caroline Roussel : They are aligned with the values espoused by the School: Achievement, Responsibility, Integrity, Solidarity, Commitment (ARISE). The Foundation defends the values of inclusion and philanthropy. Philanthropy comes from individual donors - parents of students, students, graduates, etc. - as well as corporate sponsors.
Laure Quédillac : The whole purpose of the Foundation is to bring together the entire IÉSEG community: students, graduates, employees, the socio-economic world, etc. under the banner of generosity to raise funds to support our students in their studies. Every donation counts! If each stakeholder donates just one euro, it will raise funds for our young people who need them. It’s crucial!
WHAT ARE THE FOUNDATION’S MOST EMBLEMATIC PROJECTS?
Caroline Roussel : There are several, but among those that come to mind, I’d like to mention the partnership with the Télémaque association, which supports committed, motivated young people from disadvantaged areas through double mentoring over six years, starting at the end of the fifth year of general education. IÉSEG and its
Foundation are committed to working with Télémaque to strengthen social diversity within the school and our role as a major player in equal opportunities in secondary schools. Ten IÉSEG employees are working as mentors for young people supported by the association in the Île-de-France and Lille regions. The School is also providing financial support by offering a 75% reduction in tuition fees to four young people from the Télémaque programme who have been admitted to initial training at IÉSEG. We are delighted to have taken on our first Télémaque godchild in September 2024.
One of the Foundation’s other flagship projects is an equal opportunities programme in the Hauts-de-France region with our sponsorship partner Cofidis. We have signed a three-year partnership agreement under which Cofidis provides financial support of €100,000 per year. This commitment makes perfect sense when you consider that Cofidis France is headed by Nicolas Wallaert, a graduate of IÉSEG.
Laure Quédillac : I’d like to mention the launch of the solidarity fund in 2022 that supports students in financial difficulty at IÉSEG. The challenge was to test the culture of giving within our community. After the confinement, the aim was to identify students in need of financial aid in order to raise funds and support them. 150 applications
“Supporting the IÉSEG Foundation means making a concrete commitment to inclusive, humane and supportive education!”
were received from students at the start. We managed to raise €35,000 in one month. Another project was the Foundation’s tenth anniversary event, which set the tone for its ambition to focus on people and young people. It was an opportunity to bring together the Foundation’s governance, donors and beneficiaries, including the first awards ceremony and a round-table discussion on generosity.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN CHALLENGES FACING THE FOUNDATION?
Caroline Roussel : The field of possibilities is vast. One of our first challenges is to make the Foundation and its programmes known to as many people as possible. Another is to develop a culture of giving. This is a longterm project to raise more money, to enable young people to join our programmes, to give them the opportunity to pursue their studies with peace of mind without having to worry about funding. It’s a collective project for the School and its Foundation that makes a lot of sense and allows people to get involved. It is for this reason that for just over two years now, IÉSEG has provided the human resources by recruiting a diversity and social inclusion project manager for the School and a dedicated manager for the Foundation.
Laure Quédillac : In my opinion, the main challenge is to collect data from our entire community. We also need to continue structuring the equal opportunities programme. I agree with Caroline that we need to make our stakeholders aware of the Foundation’s challenges: communication challenges, but also challenges in terms of promoting donors and beneficiaries, while always focusing on our mission: social inclusion!
“The values of the IÉSEG Foundation are aligned with those carried by the School: Achievement, Responsibility, Integrity, Solidarity, Commitment (ARISE).”
HIGHLIGHTS 2024
COFIDIS: FIRST MAJOR SPONSOR OF THE IÉSEG FOUNDATION
The IÉSEG Foundation and Cofidis have signed a sponsorship agreement to promote social inclusion in 2024. The company has made a major commitment, providing financial support of €100,000 a year for three years. The aim is to support young people to facilitate their training and professional integration. Together, the IÉSEG Foundation, IÉSEG and Cofidis will work in three main areas:
• Setting up guidance and support systems for students in their final year of high school or in their first year of post-baccalaureate studies in order to democratise access to IÉSEG;
• The creation of a Cofidis scholarship
awarded to around forty students on the Lille campus;
• The organisation of joint events to mobilise all stakeholders, in particular students, graduates, administrative and academic teams, partner companies and customers.
INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE IÉSEG FOUNDATION: SUPPORT AND EXPERTISE FROM THE FONDATION DE FRANCE
The IÉSEG Foundation has decided to develop its collaboration with the Fondation de France and the Transnational Giving Europe network to enable donors, both legal entities and individuals, residing in one of the participating countries, to provide financial support to non-profit organisations in other Member States, while benefiting directly from the tax advantages provided by the legislation in their country of residence. Thanks to the Fondation de France, the IÉSEG Foundation has been able to benefit from the generosity of European donors and sponsors since 2023, and American and Asian donors and sponsors since 2024.
“Established in Hong Kong since 2023, Fondation de France Asia’s mission is to support and develop Asian philanthropy and cross-border exchanges, particularly with France. In this context, we are pleased to support the IÉSEG Foundation in the development of its international cooperation and fundraising, in Hong Kong and in the region.”

GIVING TUESDAY: “UNLEASH YOUR GENEROSITY AND CHANGE THE WORLD”.
For Giving Tuesday 2024, which took place on 3 December, the IÉSEG Foundation launched an appeal for applications so that students could apply for grants. At the same time, it invited its stakeholders to make a commitment to equal opportunities by making a donation. Results: over 450 applications were received from students. Thanks to these donations, 118 students will receive grants at the beginning of 2025. https://www.ieseg.fr/news/giving-tuesday-2024/
“A worldwide movement that celebrates and encourages generosity, commitment and solidarity, Giving Tuesday is celebrated every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to encourage giving. The IÉSEG Foundation is one of the many organisations involved in France. Joining this community shows your commitment to actions in the public interest. This is all about equal opportunities in higher education - well done!”

AFTER WORK GATHERINGS: PROMOTING THE FOUNDATION AMONGST ALUMNI
2024 was an opportunity for the IÉSEG Foundation to organise several gatherings after work with graduates, in close collaboration with IÉSEG Network, the alumni network. Around 200 people attended These events took place in Geneva, Brussels, Amsterdam and New York. An opportunity to promote the Foundation’s actions to its alumni community, invite them to get involved and collect donations.
LAUNCH OF A CAMPAIGN TARGETING AROUND A HUNDRED FIRST-TIME ALUMNI DONORS!
During the summer of 2024, the IÉSEG Foundation launched a campaign among its graduates. The idea was to contact them by telephone to present the Foundation, listen to their suggestions for ways of helping to relaunch it and continue the fund-raising campaign. In two months, nearly 100 graduates, first-time donors, have shown their commitment and support, with around €30,000 in donations of up to €5,000. The IÉSEG Foundation warmly thanks them for their invaluable participation and generosity.
WORKSHOPS WITH GRADUATES
Two workshops were organised with IÉSEG graduates in 2024 to give them an insight into the Foundation’s actions, gather their opinions and discuss its strategy with them. A total of 30 alumni took part in these workshops.
“A productive and inspiring co-construction workshop on the missions, resources and partnership opportunities to be developed by the IÉSEG Foundation for the benefit of our future ‘changemakers’. I’m delighted to have been able to contribute to it alongside other alumni... A way of passing the torch, so to speak.”
Metty MAVOUNIA , 2017 IÉSEG graduate
IN 2024, THE FOUNDATION CELEBRATED ITS TENTH ANNIVERSARY!
The IÉSEG Foundation celebrated its tenth anniversary in January 2024. It was the perfect opportunity to organise a convivial event focusing on transmission and generosity. Caroline Roussel, Managing Director of IÉSEG, and Thérèse Lebrun, President and Delegate for Health and Social affairs at the Université Catholique de Lille, took turns to explain the Foundation’s strategy and challenges. JeanPhilippe Ammeux, Director General of IÉSEG from 1994 to 2022 and ambassador for the Foundation, also symbolically presented the first scholarships. The beneficiaries had the opportunity to talk about the benefits of giving, to explain what it has changed for them and to thank the donors during a round-table discussion moderated by Hélène Genéty, head of the Foundation.
Although this is a first for the Foundation, the principle of grants was initiated thanks to the solidarity fund launched by the IÉSEG Foundation on Giving Tuesday at the end of November 2022. The aim remains that of supporting students who are studying at IÉSEG and in financial difficulty, in order to promote equal opportunities within the School.
COLOMBUS CONSULTING, PATRON OF THE FOUNDATION, VIA AN
APPLIED RESEARCH CHAIR
As part of the ‘Sustainability of business in society’ chair, launched in 2022 by IÉSEG and the Fondation de la Catho de Lille, Colombus Consulting, a firm specialising in the responsible transformation of organisations facing major changes, has lent its support. The aim is to contribute to the reorientation of business models towards more sustainable and responsible trajectories. The partnership has resulted in a €15,000 donation to the Foundation over three years, which will be paid back to the School to fund the chair.
EVERY DONATION: A POSITIVE CHANGE
Reducing inequalities regarding access to quality higher education and developing an educational project that matches the potential of current and future students: the IÉSEG Foundation places students at the heart of its approach. Focused on the social opening of the School, its strategy is driven by three axes: equal opportunities, excellence and entrepreneurship, in the firm belief that every donation generates positive change.
As a development tool for IÉSEG, the Foundation was created with the idea of mobilising additional sources of funding: donations, sponsorship, etc. Non-profit-making, its main objective is to support young people in financial difficulty. The Foundation’s actions aim to strengthen the diversification of student profiles in order to improve IÉSEG’s overall and sustainable performance. Every donation is a step forward for present and future students. Each donation is a further step towards solidarity, one of IÉSEG’s fundamental values. Each donation aims to give young people all

SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL’S STRATEGY
The IÉSEG Foundation aims to support the School’s strategy of inclusion and support for students. Aware of the need to fight against inequalities in access to quality
“Supporting the IÉSEG Foundation means having an immediate impact and positive participation.”
higher education, the IÉSEG Foundation focuses its missions on the social openness of the School. It fights against inequalities and supports the School’s pedagogical project that is centred on individual student support. The Foundation is in line with the School’s ongoing initiatives, such as the accelerated development of its CSR strategy and the creation of an environment where everyone feels included, valued and supported to the best of their abilities. In its day-to-day work, the Foundation works closely and transversally with the School’s departments. The Social and Environmental Impact Department, the Research Department, the Corporate Relations Department, the Academic Departments, the Brand and Communications Department... the Foundation is at the crossroads of all these activities.
CREATING IMPACT INTERNATIONALLY
The Foundation also aims to develop its international sponsorship campaign with its ecosystem of alumni, parents and corporate partners. It provides financial support for students to enter prestigious international universities as part of the excellence
programme. The aim is to create an impact beyond France’s borders. IÉSEG’s international orientation and the development of a multicultural community are part of its mission. It defends the diverse and inclusive environment valued by the School, making studies at IÉSEG accessible to all bright and motivated candidates, whatever their origin, by developing mechanisms for inclusion and equality across all types of diversity.
SOCIAL OPENNESS AT THE HEART OF ITS MISSIONS
Enabling everyone to access high-quality training with personalised support: IÉSEG and its Foundation place the issue of social openness at the heart of their missions by setting up actions around three strategic axes: equal opportunities, excellence and entrepreneurship.
YOUR DONATION: THE IMPACT ON EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Through its ‘equal opportunities’ programme, the IÉSEG Foundation supports students in financial difficulty by awarding grants to enable them to pursue their studies in the best possible conditions.
The IÉSEG Foundation supports the School’s various programmes, which help students regardless of social, cultural or geographical background. A reduction in tuition fees, an honorary loan or a bank guarantee are offered depending on the requests and decisions made by the tuition assistance committee.
UPSTREAM ACTIONS
According to a study carried out by the Cnesco*, secondary school students from working-class backgrounds are half as likely as those from advantaged backgrounds to opt for selective courses of study. This is due mainly to a lack of knowledge about the courses, selfcensorship or a lack of confidence in their own abilities. In order for these young people to be able to choose their path, information and exchange are essential. The upstream challenge of the school is therefore to open up educational, professional and cultural horizons in a spirit of openness and sharing in order to:
• Raise awareness of the School in priority urban neighbourhoods (Quartiers prioritaires de la ville - QPV) and rural regeneration zones (ZRR), to combat the self-censorship of some *National Centre for the Study of School Systems / Centre national d’étude des systèmes scolaires

young people while responding to local issues;
• Organise visits to the School’s two campuses with workshops for secondary school students;
• Create an IÉSEG Summer school including visits to companies in order to raise awareness of careers and training;
• Set up workshops to prepare for the IÉSEG entrance exam.
It’s all thanks to YOU!

Marina MAKI EBO,
IÉSEG
student, recipient of the ‘equal opportunities’ grant
“Receiving an ‘equal opportunities’ grant means I can continue my studies with greater financial peace of mind and invest more in my personal and professional development. The creation of the Foundation symbolises our commitment to equal opportunities and access to education for all. It demonstrates our desire to support the next generation of professionals. I would like to express my gratitude to the donors for their generosity and their passion for a world where education is a tool for a better future.”
WHILE STUDYING
In order to support students in difficulty and meet the needs of the French and international student community, IÉSEG and its Foundation have set up a system of three types of grants:
• Emergency grants to help students who are suddenly faced with complicated temporary situations;
• Equal opportunities’ grants to give students confidence and remove financial obstacles to accessing and continuing their studies at IÉSEG;
• Health grants to meet the specific needs of students with visible or invisible disabilities.
IÉSEG has also introduced a system of automatic tuition fee reductions for CROUS scholarship students who are eligible for a minimum level 3.
It’s all thanks to YOU!
“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have the opportunity to continue our studies in an environment that allows us to realise our full potential. The Equal Opportunities Bursary is not just financial support: it’s a vote of confidence in our ability to succeed and contribute to society. Donor support motivates us to persevere and reminds us that, despite the obstacles, there are people willing to invest in the future of young people.
From a financial point of view, this grant has enabled me to significantly reduce the financial burden of my studies. It gives me the peace of mind I need to concentrate fully on my training.
But beyond the financial aid, this scholarship has immense moral value. It represents real encouragement and a sign of recognition of my efforts and potential. This moral support boosts my self-confidence, encourages me to persevere and reinforces my commitment to excel in my studies. This scholarship reminds me that I’m not alone in my journey and that there are people and institutions ready to support me in achieving my ambitions.”

YOUR DONATION: THE IMPACT ON EXCELLENCE
One of IÉSEG’s missions is to support every talent and stimulate excellence within its student community. Since its creation, the School has always made it a point of honour to support excellence in academics, research and student recruitment. It is only natural that excellence should be one of the Foundation’s key areas of development.
“IÉSEG and its Foundation are keen to foster students’ potential, to contribute to their personal and professional development by removing financial obstacles.”
By enabling its students to enrich their knowledge and develop their career opportunities and networks in France and abroad, IÉSEG is keen to encourage the concentration of high-potential students and contribute to their personal and professional fulfilment by removing financial obstacles. It has set up two action programmes, financed by the School in addition to its donors and sponsors: a tailor-made excellence scholarship programme and a programme of support throughout the student’s career.
TAILOR-MADE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
This approach is part of the excellence programme created by the School in 2017. Its principle? To give the most motivated students who meet strict academic criteria the opportunity to apply to study for a semester or a year at prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the London School of Economics, Columbia and Yale. As the number of places on offer is limited and the competition to get into these institutions is very strong, the selection criteria are extremely demanding. Decisions to award excellence scholarships are based on professional aptitude, academic results, motivation and social criteria. Thirteen students have benefited over the last two years.
It’s all thanks to YOU!
“Nothing predestined me to succeed. The son of immigrants who came to France at the age of 16 in the hope of a better life, I grew up in neighborhoods that are still associated with delinquency and violence. Where so many people choose to look the other way, the IÉSEG Foundation braved the shadows of this glass ceiling to open the doors to an ambitious future for me. Financial constraints stifle ambition, driving people to give up before they’ve even dared to dream. Today, this scholarship enables me to study at Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), so yes, even for those who are forgotten, excellence is never out of reach.”
“Nordine MORCHID, IÉSEG student, recipient of the Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) “excellence” scholarship.
“Together with its Foundation, the School has initiated a coaching and commitment program prior to departure, during the experience abroad and on return, to ensure that it is always at the side of its students receiving the Excellence Scholarship.”
SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE CAREER
Supporting the students who benefit from these renowned opportunities is essential for IÉSEG and its Foundation. For this reason, a coaching and commitment program has been set up prior to departure, during the experience abroad and on return. In concrete terms, the aim is to prepare students before they leave by working on methodology, reinforcing their language skills, simulating interviews, writing summary notes and developing their general knowledge, and to find out how best to seize opportunities for success once they’re there. The return journey is also anticipated by reflecting on the logic of the itinerary, and how to make the most of the experience and skills acquired.

“The IÉSEG’s Foundation scholarship was more than just financial help for me. It was proof of the confidence placed in my abilities. It gave me access to a prestigious education, paving the way for the realization of my professional aspirations. In the near future, I’m aiming to create a truly virtuous circle that will offer other students the chance to seize similar opportunities. This scholarship represents an ecosystem where sharing knowledge goes hand in hand with multiplying opportunities. It’s a space where the positive impact far exceeds the boundaries of financial resources, creating a lasting influence beyond my own experience.”

YOUR DONATION: THE IMPACT ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Entrepreneurship, the third pillar of the Foundation’s strategy, is an integral part of the IÉSEG ecosystem. In 2015, the School created its incubator, enabling start-ups created by IÉSEG students and graduates to launch their projects while at the same time being accompanied. In partnership with the incubator, the Foundation offers seed grants for its student-entrepreneurs with Crous scholarships.
To qualify for the entrepreneurship grants, projects are selected by a jury according to the purpose and profile of the students. Winners then benefit from coaching provided by the IÉSEG incubator. Located at the heart of the School and present on the Lille and Paris-La Défense campuses, the incubator adopts an educational and teaching approach, enabling each project to progress at its own pace. Through its entrepreneurship grants, it helps student-entrepreneurs become agents of change, bringing value to society.

“Entrepreneurship is a field where you can quickly feel alone and detached from the world. Knowing that the School is there to support us is important to me. IÉSEG invests and strives every year to offer better support for its student-entrepreneurs. The development of the IÉSEG Foundation represents a message of solidarity and trust.”
MAKE AN IMPACT TOGETHER!
By supporting the IÉSEG Foundation, you’re helping to meet the needs of the student community. It means joining the virtuous circle of generosity and transmission. It means contributing to the school’s social role and its actions in the public interest. In the end, making a donation to the IÉSEG Foundation means making an immediate, positive and lasting impact.
“At the Foundation, we are convinced that we must act to produce noticeable and lasting change in social openness. Collectively, let’s actively commit to making our actions possible and transforming the lives of our deserving student community.”
Every donation to the IÉSEG Foundation complies with the ethical charter signed in 2024 guiding relations with individual donors and corporate sponsors.
REINFORCING CSR COMMITMENTS
In its general interest actions, the Foundation disseminates the School’s CSR commitments and reinforces them to have an impact on the student community. It guarantees that donations are used to promote the values shared with the École.
SUPPORTING THE IÉSEG FOUNDATION MEANS:
• Becoming part of a committed, active and involved community of Foundation donors;
• Having a social and educational impact: each donation contributes directly to social inclusion, equal opportunity and access to IÉSEG for all;
• Enabling students from modest backgrounds but with excellent academic results to enter prestigious international universities;
• Supporting our entrepreneurial students and their creation of business projects during their studies.
“We are all graduates of this magnificent School, which has risen to the highest level in France and by international standards. It continues to progress to meet the challenges we face. However, IÉSEG lacks the resources to be sufficiently open to social diversity. This is a major issue for us, as it is unacceptable to reserve excellence for those who can afford to pay tuition fees. I’m fortunate to have been appointed ambassador of the Foundation in order to lead our collective and thus ensure that those who follow us have the same opportunities as us by joining this fine School.”
BECOME A FOUNDATION AMBASSADOR
Ambassadors play a crucial role in the Foundation’s development. Their mission? To actively contribute to the implementation of the Foundation’s actions, to its influence in France and abroad, and to the development of the network by working alongside committed local players. Whether in France or abroad, everyone can become an ambassador: students, employees, graduates.... All you need to do is become a donor to the Foundation, agree to be a volunteer, and follow the integration process. Ready to join the Foundation adventure?

THEY SUPPORT US
“At Allianz Trade, we firmly believe that education and skills development are essential levers for building a better future. With this in mind, we have created the Allianz Trade Campus Ambassadors network, a committed community that represents our company at student events. Members of this network share their career paths and professional experiences, and offer practical advice to inspire and guide young talent in their professional projects. But our commitment doesn’t stop there. Each time we take part in a student event, we raise funds to support an annual foundation or student association. In 2023, our choice has been the IÉSEG Foundation, renowned for its “equal opportunity” and “excellence” scholarship programmes, aimed at helping deserving
students facing financial difficulties. Thanks to this contribution, we hope to help these talented young people succeed with their projects, regardless of their financial situation.
At Allianz Trade, we are proud to support this cause and actively contribute to a fairer society. We hope that our partnership with the IÉSEG Foundation will inspire other companies to invest in the future of our youth.
