Examine and discuss data collected during the first large-scale, state-wide survey of teachers on curriculum issues, including information on their use and views of official curriculum documents relating to teacher experience and training, teaching contexts and systemic support provisions.
Understanding Poverty – Student resources for learning - Amanda Wicks
This session, based on A Framework for Understanding Poverty, outlines nine resources which impact on student learning and behaviour and discusses strategies to support students’ development of resources that may be missing or weak.
How to use achievement standards - Terry Gallagher
Explore quality assessment in the P-10 Australian Curriculum, including the QSA advice and guidelines, and resources elaborating the achievement standards in relation to: planning assessment programs; developing assessments; and judging student learning and achievement.
Maintaining early childhood pedagogy in a data driven environment - Sue Grieshaber
Use recent research and a series of prompts to: elicit prior knowledge and skills; reflect on current beliefs, values and assumptions; share insights into professional practice; and consider extending knowledge and skills to maintain early childhood pedagogy in daily practice.
