WRAS Appropriate products have been extensively tested by the WRc and are approved or pending approval to comply with the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme. TMV2 The Government recommends the use of thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) for baths, taps and showers for all housing. TMV2 Certified valves maintain the pre-set temperatures even if the water pressure varies when other appliances are used, preventing domestic hot water scalding. TMV3 TMV3 valves are engineered to a high standard so that they meet Government Health and Safety requirements for use in public places such as schools, hospitals, offices etc. and would significantly reduce the risk of scalds occurring in the home or anywhere that hot water is delivered through mixing valves.

These Non-Concussive valves provide a timed flow of water (factory set to 15 seconds), to prevent wastage and promote water efficiency. Ideal for use in gyms and leisure centres, these simple valves can be used in conjunction with our new Commercial Shower Kits to offer an economical shower option.

TMV3 valves are engineered to a high standard so that they meet Government Health and Safety requirements for use in public places such as schools, hospitals, offices etc. and would significantly reduce the risk of scalds occurring in the home or anywhere that hot water is delivered through mixing valves.

All tappings are 1/2” BSP. Dimensions are subject to minor deviations. We recommend pipework is not installed until receipt of heated towel rail.

All our dimensional details are published in our current brochures. However, due to manufacturing tolerances, we strongly suggest that your final pipework position is not completed until you actually receive delivery of your radiator.

Electric-Only Radiators Where your installation location does not have immediate access to an existing water supply, we can offer purpose made electric-only products for a quick and easy solution to your heating needs. These electric-only products are supplied pre-filled with an electrical inhibitor solution, and fitted with a compatible heating element.

Dual Fuel radiators Some of our radiators can also work as dual fuel applications, which means when your main heating system might be turned off in the summer months, you can still operate your radiators electrically if required. Please see our current brochures for suitable models.

Radiator Valve options Depending on your choice of radiator, we have several styles to choose from, details of which can be found in our current brochures.

Warning/Precautions Qualified persons should make all electrical and plumbing connections. When fitting radiators with heating elements, the radiator must always be mounted with the element at the bottom with the radiator in the upright position. Failure to do so may result in a fire hazard.

EXCEPTIONAL HEAT OUTPUT

Look out for this symbol on radiators which offer excellent heat output for their surface area (Applies to radiators with a heat output in excess of 4000 BTUs)

There are all sorts of reasons why this could be happening. 1 It might sound obvious but first check that you have turned your heating on. 2 What is your boiler model/type? It may not be big enough to supply the requirements of the additional radiator added. (Contact your boiler manufacturer for guidance.) 3 Has the system water level been topped up adequately to compensate for the new radiator? 4 If the pipework gets hot and the radiator not? You may have an air lock in the system. Try bleeding the system. 5 If the pipework is not getting hot you may have a blockage preventing circulation. Locate the blockage and clear. 6 If the radiator only heats up partially.

General Advice

Radiator Valves

What heat output will I need for my room? It is highly recommended that your installer calculates the BTU requirement for each applicable room, so you can get the maximum heat benefit from your chosen radiator. We strongly suggest this is done before purchasing your radiator.

Troubleshooting:

6.1 First check both valves on the sides of the radiator are open, and if a thermostatic valve is fitted, remove the top and check the operating pin moves freely. 6.2 It may be that the water flow is crossing over the bottom of the radiator before the radiator fills, so slow down the return valve side, this will help the filling up of the radiator. 6.3 It is possible to fit a baffle to the inlet on certain types of radiator. The idea of this baffle is to encourage the water flow in a vertical direction thus filling the radiator to allow it to fully heat up. (Please note using a baffle you will need to alter the pipe centres.) 6.4 It may be relating back to point 2 above boiler is not big enough for the additional radiator added. (Contact your boiler manufacturer for guidance.)

Bathroom with Bath Safety is the main concern when considering bathroom lighting. Bathrooms are divided into Zones 0, 1 and 2, based on their likely exposure to water. Only use light fittings in the zone for which they are designed. The main light should be switched on by a pull cord or a switch outside the bathroom. Please note: The classification of bathroom zones has changed. Zone 3 no longer exists, but references to it may still appear on product packaging.

Bathroom with Shower Tray • Zone 0 is the smallest volume that contains the bath, shower, basin etc. • Zone 1 is the area above Zone 0, up to a height of 2.25m above the floor. • Zone 2 is the area above Zone 1 up to a height of 3m, as well as the area that is horizontally within 0.6m from Zone 1. • If the space under the bath cannot be accessed without using a tool, then that space is considered un-zoned.
