BODY CONTOURING Our non-surgical, non-invasive alternatives to liposuction can smooth, shape and firm the body. Commonly treated areas include abdomen, back, arms, love handles, hips, buttocks and thighs. CHEMICAL PEEL Chemical peels can be vital for skin health. Chemical peeling agents come in more than one form. Resurfacing treatments are mild acid treatments that provide a fresh-faced exfoliation, often without peeling the next day. Glycolic acid peels are ideal for stimulating collagen regeneration and reducing the appearance of fine lines, and aid in moisture retention. Lactic acid peels brighten skin, aid in moisture retention and are helpful for sensitive skin types. Salicylic acid peels help to regulate oil production and break down excess oil and acne bacteria. Peeling treatments are medium depth acid treatments. TCA peels are another common option that have a medium/deep depth. These are ideal for those whose skin is appropriate for a more aggressive treatment. Those who are seeking a deeper treatment can peel for anywhere from a couple of days to a week. Often a series of peels spaced several weeks apart are recommended for optimal results. Possible side effects for chemical peeling treatments can include redness and swelling of the skin, peeling or scabbing of the treated skin and surrounding areas, prolonged skin sensitivity, discoloration of the skin and herpes breakout around the mouth if you are prone to cold sores.

FACIALS A facial is one of the best ways to take care of your skin, especially when it's given by an experienced, knowledgeable esthetician. A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion, and can help your skin look younger. The Basic Steps of a Facial Consultation– A facial should begin with a consultation. This can affect your skin and what kind of treatments are recommended. Cleansing– The treatment begins a facial with a thorough cleansing, using cotton pads, wipes or sponges. Skin Analysis– The esthetician covers your eyes and looks at your skin through a brightly lit magnifying lamp. He or she is determining your basic skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive or normal) and skin conditions (acne, blackheads, whiteheads, aging, sun-damage, dehydration, etc.) The esthetician then chooses the appropriate products and treatments, and consults with you about what he or she sees and recommends. Steam– Most facials use a machine that directs a thin vapor of warm steam to your face. This is relaxing and helps softens up any blackheads and whiteheads to be extracted. Exfoliation and extractions– depending on if you need it and want it. Facial massage– to both relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles. Facial mask– targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature) and condition. Final application– of toner, serums, moisturizer and sunscreen if it's daytime. Advice on home skin care– The esthetician will tell you how she thinks you can take better care of your skin and recommend products.

FACIAL FILLERS Like the name implies, fillers temporarily “fill� areas of soft tissue to reduce wrinkles, fill creases and create a subtle contour to the face. The most common facial regions for treatment with injected fillers are the smile lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). Injectables alone are not always sufficient for severe surface wrinkles on the face. Therefore, your provider may suggest a variety of treatment options. Facial fillers are injectable products and are not suitable for all patients. Your healthcare provider will discuss with you the potential risks and benefits of the various fillers. Ask your provider for more information on appropriate treatment options during your consultation.

INTENSE PULSED LIGHT Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment which uses short bursts of light energy. This procedure can reduce skin discolorations including redness, broken capillaries and sun-induced brown spots. Photorejuvenation simultaneously decreases the signs of aging skin such as fine lines and wrinkles. IPL uses an adjustable range of wavelengths making it an effective option to address multiple conditions. Although improvement can be seen in as little as one visit, multiple procedures spaced 3-4 weeks apart may be necessary. The process is pretty quick and involves minimal downtime. IPL infrequently causes some side effects including mild discomfort during treatment and skin turning red, brown flaking, mild swelling and feeling a little sore immediately after the procedure. Side effects are usually minimal and typically fade within two weeks of the procedure.

LASER SKIN RESURFACING Over time, factors such as sun damage, genetics, diet, and repetitive muscle movement can contribute to the formation of lines and wrinkles in the face. The development of pigmentation anomalies, such as “age spots,” or acne scars can cause skin to lose its smooth, youthful appearance. Laser skin resurfacing can reduce changes associated with sun exposure and aging. Laser resurfacing also helps to stimulate skin to become healthy. Laser light penetrates to a precise, controlled depth within the skin. As the resurfaced areas heal, a new layer of skin is produced. Less invasive, non-surgical procedures are becoming increasingly popular among facial cosmetic patients. This is not surprising – the chance to reduce some signs of aging with a relatively short procedure, involving minimal down time and a quicker recovery, is very appealing. Typically one or more treatments are needed to see best results. Possible side effects can include temporary redness, blistering, discoloration and temporary bruising. LASER HAIR REMOVAL Temporary hair removal methods like shaving and waxing can be painful and offer no long term solutions. Laser hair removal is a way to permanently reduce unwanted hair, whether it be on your legs, underarms, bikini area or elsewhere. Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin within the hair follicle; a series of several treatments may be needed. On average, it takes up to six treatments to see best results. Following your laser hair removal treatment you may be slightly red, but this is usually minimal and gone in a few hours. Other possible side effects can include blistering and discoloration.

MICRODERMABRASION/HYDROFACIAL Microdermabrasion is the use of a device that functions as an exfoliator to revitalize dull skin. The hand-piece is gently passed across the skin with a fine crystal spray, reducing the build-up of dead skin cells. This combination of gentle exfoliation and suction improves the appearance of superficial imperfections and may increase circulation. This device can be used on multiple areas of the body where revitalization is desired including the face, hands, neck, and dĂŠcolletĂŠ. Patients typically leave feeling refreshed with little downtime. A series of treatments are generally recommended for optimal results. NEUROTOXIN BOTOX, XEOMIN, AND DYSPORT Neurotoxins relax the muscle and prevent its activity. This helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles between the eyes and crow's feet. Neurotoxins are used cosmetically to reduce wrinkles and provide a smoother appearance of the area between the eyes. The procedure is relatively quick and there is minimal downtime. SCLEROTHERAPY Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure done by your healthcare provider to treat uncomplicated spider veins and uncomplicated reticular veins. The treatment involves the injection of a solution into the affected veins. A prescription medicine is used in sclerotherapy and is administered by a healthcare provider to treat two types of veins: • Uncomplicated spider veins (very small varicose veins ≤ 1 mm in diameter) • Uncomplicated small varicose veins (1 to 3 mm in diameter) known as reticular veins A typical sclerotherapy session lasts 20 minutes. One injection is usually administered per inch with multiple injections per session. SKIN CARE A basic skin care routine is essential for optimal results. It is important to understand it is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week regimen. There are several basic steps to follow. First, it can be necessary to cleanse the skin morning and evening. Next some may need to exfoliate; most people tend to skip this step in their weekly routine. This is a step that can give you immediate results. You may use a scrub with small grains and gently scrub the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Do this on a weekly basis, but it is important to understand not to over exfoliate the skin. Next, you may be in need of a good moisturizer, even if your skin is oily. Apply the moisturizer to your skin while it is still moist. Finally, apply sunscreen. Never leave home without it! Sun damage is the number one cause of wrinkles.
