About IFMSA-Egypt

In 1969, IFMSA-Egypt was founded by a group of exceptional, aspiring, and bright medical students. Our founders sought a single aim: the empowerment of medical students all over Egypt. Over the years, each generation has spared no efforts to assist IFMSA-Egypt's flourishing, development, and expansion.

United under that one aim, IFMSA-Egypt has endured 5 decades of solidarity and effectiveness in the tasks of empowering medical students and utilizing them to serve the Egyptian society in the fields of Public Health, Medical Education Improvement, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Human Right and Peace.

After 50 years of nothing short of hard work, we are harvesting the fruits of our predecessors: IFMSA-Egypt is representing more than 80,000 medical students, of which more than 4,500 are active members in their Local Committees, in 25 medical schools in Egypt. Succeeding our predecessors' path, our members are working tirelessly, to empower medical students and serve the society, by more than 150 local projects and 14 national projects, and handling more than 300 Exchange Students annually.

TNT

Training Medical Education Trainers Workshop aims to develop IFMSA members' knowledge about Medical Education, while also empowering them to share and promote it. And to take part in developing the capacity of the IFMSA which is the backbone of the committee and organization.

SCOME provides a peer-education experience through the workshop, directed towards flourishing Medical Education and Student Representation among medical students. These medical students will then also become part of a network of trainers and advocates for a better Medical Education amongst their peers and within their context. Moreover, training medical students in medical education and empowering them to become student representatives shapes not only the quality of our future doctors, but also the quality of healthcare.

TMET IPET

The IPET aims to empower medical students to further develop their skills in communication and group dynamics while exploring values, attitudes and knowledge in the field of sexual and reproductive health and youth programming in the field of prevention and health promotion. Generally, the training will be focused on how to approach adolescents, as well as putting special attention to hard to reach youth.

We're bringing the newly added international workshop, Training of Public Health Trainers (TPHT), closer to you. This workshop aims to capacitate public health enthusiasts, allowing you to develop your training skills and graduate as an internationally certified trainer. The workshop covers multiple aspects, from fundamental public health concepts to soft skills and training techniques.

You'll come out of this workshop with the ability to train any IFMSA member around the world on public health topics.

TPHT GHA

Public Relations is the practice of deliberately managing the release and spread of information between an individual or an organization and the public in order to affect the public perception. Public relations specialists establish and maintain relationships with an organization's target audience through media. Common responsibilities include designing communications campaigns, managing company reputation, and marketing activities. The rise of new social media platforms and the ever developing strategies to attract the attention of every user has made PRC an increasingly difficult and complex area of expertise.

ITDM

Over the last century, the number of disasters has remarkably increased, indicating that future generations of physicians will be called upon to provide mass-casualty treatment to an even greater extent than before. A number of studies point to the lack of adequate training in the medical management of disaster response – a deficiency that has become dramatically apparent in the recent past. In every major emergency there are still significant numbers of aid personnel who lack some of essential skills, as a consequence, many governments and scientific institutions agree that disaster medicine education should be included in the standard medical curriculum. The importance of enhancing education and training in disaster medicine has widely been perceived by medical students emphasizing that are willing to respond to public health emergencies and disasters.

PRET

The PRET is an international meeting of the IFMSA's Local Exchange Officers, Local Officers on Research Exchange, National Exchange Officers, National Officers on Research Exchange, and anyone else interested in exchanges.

There will be three days of exchange-related sessions, small working groups and trainings with the main objective of developing SCOPE and SCORE through improving your skills as an Exchange Officer, solving common problems, getting to know IFMSA, sharing experiences, meeting new people, getting super motivated, and, of course, having a lot of fun.
