Some general information
Types of Visas:
A. B.
Single Entry Visa: Valid for 3 months; allows a stay of up to 30 days (25$) - [recommended for exchange situation]
Multiple Entry Visa: Valid for 6 months; allows multiple stays of up to 30 days each (60$)
Who needs visa to Egypt
A visa to Egypt is usually very easy to get. Although most nationalities are required to obtain a visa to enter Egypt for more than 15 days The following Countries don’t need visas to Egypt:
Bahrain
Hong Kong
Kuwait
Macao
Oman
Saudi Arabia
United Arab Emirates
If you do not possess a passport issued by one of the above countries, then you need to obtain a visa to Egypt

Visa application process for e-Visa
and on arrival visa:

1. Visit the official Egyptian e-Visa portal (www.visa2egypt.gov.eg)
2. Complete the online application form
3. Upload the required documents
4. Pay the visa fee using a credit or debit card
5. Receive the e-Visa via email
6. print and carry it during your travel
On arrival visa:
1. Available for select nationalities at major Egyptian airports (see later).
2. Complete the visa application form upon arrival
3. Provide the required documents
4. Pay the visa fee in cash so make sure you have enough cash with you

A. Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry
B. Recent passport-size photo
C. Completed visa application form
E. In some cases travel itinerary and hotel reservations are needed (in your case as an exchange student the address of your lodging should be enough)
F. Return or onward flight ticket
Some important notes and useful tips

Only cash allowed for on arrival visa
You can't pay for your on-arrival visa using debit/credit cards. The fees can only be paid using cash money in USD (British pounds and Euros are accepted in some cases but USD is the most accepted, so it's safer if you have enough USDs with you). If you wish to pay by your card you may apply using the e-Visa method. 02
On arrival visa is available for single entry only
Although there are single-entry and multiple-entry visas to Egypt, only single-entry visas are available on arrival. While e-Visa allows both options. 03
On arrival visas can be obtained ONLY from the following airports

Hurghada International Airport, Hurghada
St Catherine International Airport, St Catherina
Borg El Arab International Airport, Alexandria

The Egypt visa for a single entry allows a stay of 30 days maximum
Regardless you obtained your single-entry visa as an onarrival visa or through the e-Visa portal, the visa allows a stay of 30 days maximum in the country. However, you can renew your visa. You may check this article for more details.

Some tips for a Successful Visa Application
Ensure your passport has enough blank pages for entry and exit stamps
Double-check the accuracy of the information on your application form Apply for the e-Visa at least 7 days before your intended travel date Keep digital and physical copies of all your travel documents.

Tips after airport arrival
double-check your luggage and your belongings before leaving. get a sim card from the airport to stay in contact with your contact person in case you need help. have your contact person’s number written down somewhere accessible (wallet) in case you lose your phone.
