#3 A uri c Gol df i nger In the 007 thriller by Ian Fleming from 1959, Bond sets-up a high-stakes game of golf with the world?s top gold smuggler, and treasurer for the Soviet assassination agency SMERSH, who cheats in their match by switching golf balls. In the end however, Bond beats him at his own game and wins the match. Click above to watch a video clip of the scene from the movie.

#2 Judge Smai l s The judge from Caddy Shack?s judicious use of ?Winter Rules? was the start of a primer on how to get around the course in less shots without playing any better. His #2 ranking reflects his representing the number of golfers whose ?grasp? of the rules could be termed shaky at best. The Prez' has been branded a rule bender by quite a few people but here are a few of the more prominent (in no particular order): - Academy Award Nominated Actor - Sam u el L. Jack son - Oscar de la Hoya - Champion boxer in six weight divisions - Past managing editor of Sports Illustrated - M ar k M u lvoy - Sportswriter Rick Reilly, (who caddied for Trump while doing research for the book ?Who?s Your Caddy??) Donald's alleged indiscretions range from having balls magically re-appear in the fairway courtesy of complicit caddies to taking chip-in gimme?s that were not offered. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

After Samuel L. Jackson called him a "cheat" during an interview, Trump took to Twitter first claiming that he did not know Jackson and then later deriding him for having a "not athletic" golf swing (which would be hard to do if he had not at least seen let alone played with him). Rocker / Golfer Alice Cooper was only slightly more circumspect in commenting on Trump's transgressions. Asked who was the biggest cheat in celebrity golf, he responded,

" Th e w orst cel eb ri ty gol f ch eat? I w i sh I coul d tel l you th at. I t w oul d b e a sh ock er. I pl ayed gol f w i th Donal d Trump one ti me. Th at's al l I 'm goi ng to say.? For a more complete history of Trump?s shenanigans Click HERE

Absolutely, we?d love to but it is a concern for us to make the commitment to get into bigger halls,? McCourt replied to that.

And while the number of courses and clubs showcasing their offerings is about as large as it can get at both venues, McCourt did note there is always the hope that more golfers, both experienced and newbies,

than ever before will show up. ?We?re always looking to grow the game; get kids interested,? said McCourt.

I love teeing off during an early morning round with the smell of freshly cut grass, but more importantly I really enjoy the look on a junior golfer 's face when they are having fun learning the game. That is the most rewarding feeling as a golf professional.

GOLFLABCO-FOUNDERLIAMMUCKLOW Liam and I will be sharing some of the methods we use to help our members, students, and customers shoot the lowest scores possible. What we know conclusively from PGA Tour Shotlink statistics (based on millions of shots from PGA Tour Players) is the closer you get to the hole, the easier it is to score. This starts with performance on tee shots and then

approach shots. Performance Club Fitting is rooted in a scientific approach to determine a golfers optimum equipment set up. A scientific approach is simply a method of inquiry based on empirical or measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning. Aided by the use of launch monitor technology such as TrackMan or Foresight, two of the CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

protocols we use in our driver fittings are processes called SpeedSet and WeightSet. We know shaft weight has a profound impact on a golfer ?s ability to generate club head speed.

Th ere i s a common mi sunderstandi ng i n th e gol f communi ty th at a l i gh ter sh af t eq uates to greater cl ub speed. Th i s, i n our ex peri ence, i s sel dom th e case. In the WeightSet protocol we are measuring how to maximize Club Head Speed

based on shaft weight. For the WeightSet protocol we ask golfers to hit 5 drivers with 5 different shaft weights (usually ranging from 40 ? 80 grams) and measure their average club head speed for the 5 shaft weights (using the same driver head). There is a common misunderstanding in the golf community that a lighter shaft equates to greater club speed. This, in our experience, is seldom the case. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS PAGE

Once we have determined the shaft weight which creates the most club head speed we go to our second protocol, SpeedSet. In SpeedSet protocol again we ask golfers to hit 5 shots each with 5 shafts ranging from 43 inches to 47 inches to measure the effect shaft length has on average Ball Speed (again with same driver head). As Ball Speed is an outcome of club head speed and

centeredness of strike we can determine the shaft length which optimizes a player ?s ball speed. While other factors need still be addressed in a fitting, by employing an evidence based approach to measuring optimum shaft length and weight we are well on our way to making a performance based recommendation which gets our golfer the additional yardage they are looking for.
