It started with Carter Monaco, an 11-year old junior member at Earl Grey GC in Calgary who followed up on his first hole-in-one last August with another this July. Both occurred on Earl Grey?s Lakeview Course? last year ?s on the 8th, this year on the 9th. Evidence of Carter ?s increasing distance: both holes measured 135 yards but while 2016?s ace was with a 3-wood, this year ?s was a 5-iron. Nice. Course? ? the youngest ever to do it at the course 1.5 hour ?s drive north of Calgary. Four days later, eight-year-old Kali matched the feat on the same hole. While tradition may involve buying drinks, for the kids their mother, Shawna decided that ice cream would be more suitable. "We had a very big ice cream bill last week," said mom Shawna Yeske in an interview with CBC Radio?s Calgary Eyeopener. "Instead of beers, because they are juniors, the owner and I decided we would buy all the kids ice cream." Both will have their names added to a plaque that includes the name of Canadian legend Sandra Post who made an ace at Gull Lake in July.

In this country the game, which was first brought into the Special Olympics sport stream in 2008, has exploded in popularity. grown to almost 1,400 with the vast majority being male with average age being 34. One of the Canadian players involved in the SONA tourney in Seattle was Ray Bazinet, from Ontario. He has participated in SONA events before in Florida and South Carolina, and said there were several reasons he attends this tournament each summer. ?Playing new courses, playing against the States people, travelling with my dad (who acts as the caddie),? is what draws him back year after year. Another one of the players taking part in Seattle, in his first SONA event, Andrew Chamczuk from Alberta said he wanted to do well but if he didn?t, that was the nature of sport. ?I expected to hit the best

In the end, our partnership with the PGA of Canada allowed us to have improved coaching for our athletes and we can now see

the result of all this great work.? While it could be a while before something like a SONA tournament is held in Canada, that possibility is certainly not out of line, Boulianne said. For now though, the work will continue on building the sport both in numbers, and in quality, as golf digs itself a firm foothold in the world of Special Olympics sport.

GettingDistanceWithTheDriver People are always looking for distance in their driver. The technology of the club is important, so make sure you have the specs (loft, face angle and shaft) set up to be customized for your swing. To get more from your driver, create extension in your back swing. Taking the club back low to the ground for the first foot of the back swing while maintaining centeredness will create a wide efficient swing arc, which is key in creating club head speed. The faster the club head is moving, the further the golf ball will go (if you hit it in the center).

As to a timeline on his career shift, Sadlowski figures three years should tell the tale. Right now though, he suggests, it?s day-to-day, learn what it takes to succeed and then see how things stack up down the road.
