INSIDE THIS ISSUE In this month's issue of The Scorecard, our cover story (page 12) celebrates the continued success of women in golf in B.C. as Brad Ziemer interviews the newest brand ambassador for Titleist Golf, Richmond, BC's own Christine Wong. We also have the latest version of Ziemer 's BC Golf Notes on page 14 where Brad looks at the recent success by three of BC's young pros as Megan Osland joined Jared du Toit and Ryan Williams picking up victories on mini-tours down south. On a sad note he also takes a look at the powerful influence recently passed PGA of BC and British Columbia Golf instructor Sean Richardson had on his students including PGA TOUR winner Nick Taylor. A Memoriam from the PGA of PG 8 | APRIL 2021
BC can be found on page 34. British Columbia's First Tee chapter will be the first province to unveil the national program and they are actively looking for a Development Officer (page 20) to help grow this significant brand. We are also very appreciative to share with you an article of extreme relevance to golfers or anyone involved in outdoor activities on a regular basis. A two-time BC Women's Amateur Champion, Kim Cowburn-Evans, was informed last year that she had stage 4 Melanoma. Kim felt compelled to tell her story and has done so in a very well-written article; Melanoma And Me: A Cautionary Tale Of My Life In The Sun. Please take the time to read it on page 18.

Melanoma And Me: A Cautionary Tale Of My Life In The Sun I've never been the sun-worshipping type. The pursuit of a tan was not conducive to my pasty, fair skin and blue eyes. As it happens, chronic sun exposure and playing golf go hand-in-hand. I have burned, blistered and peeled so many times that it?s a wonder that I have any skin left. Sun exposure and its damage to skin is cumulative and I probably sealed my fate by the time I was 30. READ COMPLETE STORY HERE PG 18 | APRIL 2021

Video: Si Woo Kim?s Ruling On Cliffhanger Put t That Finally Drops As they say, time waits for no man...or apparently golf ball - at least according to the rules of golf in 2021.
