General Objective: Students will be able able to identify and relate different kinds of texts to their lives, also getting to know English sounds through the learning process.

Specific Objectives: ­​ Listening: L ​isten and demonstrate comprehension of simple texts, related to daily life, and students’ context (personal experiences, and aspects of their environment and our country), topics from different subjects, such as: description of places and their weather, other countries’ cultures, environmental care, and technology development. ­​ Reading: ​ Read and demonstrate comprehension of adapted and authentic texts, which contain common words, words and phrases repetition, complemented by visual support, and related to common functions (greetings, give personal information, thank, apologize, give and follow instructions; describe people, objects, and their location; places, common actions, weather, express likes and preferences, quantity and possession). ­​ Speaking: ​ Reproduce and produce chunks, songs, rhymes and dialogues, to get to know English sounds. ­Writing: ​ Fill in and write, following a sample and with visual support, different texts (such as: postcards, short books, shopping lists, rhymes, and comics), in order to share information about year’s topics. Assessment

Listening:​ Students are shown different recordings with adapted information, which they will have to use to recognize required information, related to the topic of the class. ​ Reading: ​ Students are shown adapted texts, related to the topic of the class, which they will use to recognize and demonstrate reading comprehension skills. ​ Speaking: ​ Students will present, orally, adapted texts and created by themselves. Writing: ​ Students will create texts, or fill in adapted texts, in relation to the topic of the class.. ​

Listening: ­ Follow simple instructions, given by the teacher. For example: Open your books; look at the board. ­ Repeat songs related to unit’s topic ­ Repeat rhymes that indicate to follow instructions. For example: Hands on shoulders, hands on knees, Hands behind you, if you please; ­ Identify information: names, numbers, dates, etc., in stories, songs or audio texts.

Reading: ­ Retell general ideas of the text students have read, through pictures. ­ Order actions chronologically. ­ Recognize repeated words in the text and relate them with their communicative action.

Adapted texts

Speaking: ­ Repeat words and common expressions aloud, imitating teacher’s pronunciation. ­ Identify and imitate English sounds, through rhymes and songs. ­ Retell rhymes and simple song extracts. ­ Give information about themselves and their families, such as: names, age, relation, address.
