Culture and traditions are part of the regions roots. They are sometimes re-visited by young artists who bring a touch of freshness by presenting it in a fun manner. Every year in July, Nendaz is transformed into a living stage of Swiss folklore. This week-end is the perfect opportunity to discover the wide range of traditions of our country :

4 Vallées, one of the biggest ski domains in Europe
Nendaz is located in the heart of one of the biggest ski domains in Europe, the « 4 Vallées ». With this fantastic situation Nendaz offers about 400 km of ski runs and 92 ski lifts. Nendaz’s ski domain, unique and varied, ranges in altitude from 1’400 m to 3’330 m. Most of the ski runs are at over 1700 m in altitude, which guarantee high quality snow conditions from December to April. In winter as in summer, the Mont-Fort, the highest point of the ski domain (3330 m), is an extremely popular excursion destination.

Everybody can discover the beauty of this winter wonderland at his or her own pace. The silence is broken only by the sound of your steps on the snow. On foot, you can take your time to take in the surrounding scenery and the breathtaking view of the surrounding

Spread over more than 30’000 m2, the Tortin plaine is home throughout the winter to a 3-hole golf course. The Wood Park brings our guests back to the roots of freestyle. On the Jean-Pierre ski run, this concept with its unique and original modules built in wood awaits all lovers of air-born figures‌ of style. Not far away, on the Alpage ski run, you can try out the bumpy and curvy ski-cross run, recently included as one of the Olympic Games disciplines.

SUMMER BREAKS The « bisses » country With 8 bisses of which 6 have water flowing within their banks and with 98 km of hikes, Nendaz has a unique network of bisses. Bisses are terraced at an altitude of between 800 m and 2200 m. The bisses are walkable from spring to autumn and are also accessible to children, their parents as well as their grandparents. To help you make the most of the bisses, we offer a shuttle bus service to Veysonnaz and Siviez.

More than 200 km of mountain bike tracks The itineraries vary between 800 m and over 2900 m in altitude and allow you to discover the natural diversity of the region. Beginners, as well as experienced cyclists, will find the correct itinerary according to their capacities on the 200 km of tracks proposed. Those who prefer the downhill tracks can reach the summits via the lift system. There are many varied possibilities to keep the mountain bikers happy between May and October. 2 family orientated mountain bike tracks start at Tracouet. If you are tempted by a full-day excursion, you could head out to discover the region thanks to the Tour of the Mont-Fort (tdmf.ch) or by the Tour of the Printse (tdlp.ch). The mountain guides and mountain leaders offices, organise excursions to heighten the public’s awareness to the dangers of freeride skiing, ski touring, heliski, ice wall climbing, winter alpinism, « haute route », guided walks, based on a specific theme, on foot or on snowshoes, for one or several days. ZOOM ON NEWS AND FORTHCOMING PROJECTS New barefoot path in Siviez Families and nature lovers will have the good fortune to try a new path. The walkers will be able to feel again forgotten sensations on this « barefoot discovery track ». Sand, wood shavings, stones, pine cones and discs of wood, trunks, earth, grass and moss, pine needles. All these materials fill a different sector of this path, which initiates walkers to this passtime. They will then follow the marked barefoot path, over the bridge crossing the Printse river. The walk lasts about 30 minutes and it is also possible making a stop at the picnic area along the river. Panoramic path at Tracouet An entertaining path not to be missed from August 2013 : set off along the 1.8 km path which crosses the meadows and pastures, the rock field or the larch forest and ends on the edge of the lake at Tracouet. You can
stop and admire the incredible panoramic view of the Bietschhorn at the Mont-Blanc. Set off and discover the exceptional fauna and flora thanks to educational information posts along the way. You can have fun while testing your agility at the various wooden sports and fun posts, which blend perfectly in with the wonderful surroundings at over 2200 metres in altitude. New information posts From this summer, our guests will be able to make the most of an information post in the centre of the resort. This post is a means to complement our tourist information office in a quick and effective way. In addition, the information is available 24/7 as it does not depend on the office opening times. A GPS system has been integrated. It will, therefore, be easy to find the way to a restaurant or to the start of a hike for example.
Well-being December 2013 Opening of one of the best spas in the Alps : spread over 2200 m2, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna and hammam, integrated with the hotel Nendaz 4 Vallées ****S. It will be open to the public. www.hotelnendaz4vallees.ch More comfort : new cable car at Siviez, in the heart of the 4 Vallées Télénendaz will have the pleasure of offering brand new facilities for its holidaymakers from winter 2013-14. The new cable car of 8 places will link Siviez (1730 m) to Plan du Fou (2430 m), a difference in height of 700 m. The trip will take just 6 minutes 30 with a capacity of 2400 people per hour. This achievement, eagerly awaited by many skiers, will greatly improve the link between the regions of Siviez and Tracouet.
