bEREAVEMENT SuppoRT drOP ins

Bereavement Support Keynsham completed its first year of operation in February. Through a ‘drop-in ‘ service, the group offer support to those suffering bereavement. The service has proven to be of value with attendance on the fourth Monday of the month afternoon session between 10 and 18 people. The first Wednesday of the month session, between 5.30pm and 7pm, receives up to half a dozen attendees. The evening sessions were enabled by a donation from Keynsham Town Council in 2022.

All volunteers have received facilitation training from Dorothy House Hospice. The drop-in sessions are free and tea, coffee and biscuits are offered. The drop-in sessions are held in the Church Hall at Keynsham Baptist Church but are not linked to the Church or any religious body. Like many groups, Bereavement Support Keynsham do not receive any regular funding from any source.
