KEYNSHAM IN BLOOM AS THE SEASONS MOVE ON
A
The Crown in the park is looking much brighter too with its colourful pansy bedding.
We recently, undertook a morning of litter picking and weeding of the Keynsham Railway Station which is now looking much smarter. The troughs on the platform have been planted up with ‘berries and cream’ hyacinths and these are soon to be joined by ‘berries and cream’ pansies.
Over 25 hours of volunteer time have already been spent on the Pocket Park, in memory of Dee James. They had weeded and removed bags of bind weed and brambles, created a colourful flower bed on top of one of the walls and In Bloom have appointed contractors to work on improving the lawn.
s we say goodbye to the Town’s beautiful hanging baskets, the In Bloom volunteer team move on to other projects.
Recently, some fantastic troughs were installed, these were planted up by Barry and Susie from Keynsham Mencap Group.
Our volunteer teams have been out planting up our estate shopping centre planters (Chandag Road & Holmoak) with winter bedding plants. The main planters on the High Street and Temple Street are to receive their winter bedding soon.
The troughs and plants were kindly funded by B&NES Ward Councillor Lisa O’Brien from her Ward Councillors’ Empowerment Fund. In the next month or so, they will be installing two further planters, a bed of Remember Me Roses and a very special bench in memory of Dee.
