Spring cleaning: Our top tips!

A s we move into spring, it is the perfect time to revitalise your space, ready for a new season. Here are our top tips for giving your home a spring clean.

Decluttering

We all know that a tidy living space helps to lower stress and anxiety, plus inhaling the dust from forgotten items that are cluttering up your workspaces and floor isn’t good for anyone. One easy way to start a spring clean is by doing a little tidy and organising your rooms one at a time.

Be green

Doing a spring clean is all well and good but think about the products that you’re using. Always look for products in recyclable containers or use old school cleaning methods like vinegar and baking powder – it is much more cost effective and provides a lower carbon footprint.

Work from top to bottom

There is no point running the hoover around and then deciding to brush the cobwebs from the corners of the room or the light fixtures. Start from the ceiling and work your way down, that way you won’t have to do some jobs twice!

Don’t forget the walls!

Dust settles on walls as much as it does on the floor and other services, use a damp towel to wipe down the walls starting from the top and work your way down.

Clear out those cupboards

Spring cleaning isn’t just about donating old clothes, make a point to go through your kitchen and bathroom cupboards too and get rid of any out of date food, medicines, make up and anything else you’re not going to use. Wipe down the shelves and recycle or throw away anything that can’t be used.
