GREENPOWER manufacturing facility GREENPOWER – development and production of equipment for processing and recycling of different types of waste. The key process that is used in our equipment lies in pyrolysis and gasification of carbonaceous materials, the secondary process is pressing of biomass waste for receiving of highly liquid products. Performance of GREENPOWER Company The story of GREENPOWER Company In 2000 own production was established. The charcoal was obtained by one of the primitive means using the simplest home-made charcoal kilns produced from the used fuel storage tanks. The quality of charcoal was very low, conditions of work were horrible, and the base of production needed modernization. 2001-2006 our first charcoal kilns were implemented: CK-2 and CK-3 “Alyonka”. The kiln could be easily repaired and taken apart for further transportation. CK “Alyonka” attracted the attention of many charcoal producers from Ukraine and near-abroad countries. And this resulted in the necessity to organize the production area for manufacture of charcoal kilns. More than 100 units of CK-2 “Alyonka” kilns were produced. 2004-2011. New charcoal kiln CK-1 “Bezzolnaya” was developed. It received the name “Bezzolnaya” (that means “ashless”) because there were law amount of small fraction fines and no ash in the process of charcoal manufacture. More than 300 kilns of this type were produced and implemented for that time. In 2011 CK “Bezzolnaya” was taken out of production.

2005-2011. The equipment for processing polymers and industrial rubber goods by pyrolysis was launched. The research of the pyrolysis process of polymers and industrial rubber goods, and also the development of the equipment for the process were carried out. 2006. The equipment for mechanized charcoal sorting and packing was lauched. Later this equipment became the part of the complex line for charcoal sorting and packing. 2008-2009. CK “EURO” testing. After numerous design changes, as a result of fruitful operations, we achieved a positive result. The first ecologically friendly charcoal kiln CK “EURO” having no analogs in the world has been manufactured. For all the production time, the kiln design was significantly modernized and changed. 2009-2012. More than 150 charcoal kilns CK “EURO” were produced. A number of additional options as well as spare parts of the kiln appeared. New representative offices opened: Russia, Egypt, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Latvia.

2005-2015. Research works on the process of charcoal activation were conducted. Engineering sample of charcoal steam activation was produced, besides the method of charcoal chemical activation was studied. 2006-2012. The studies on the pyrolysis of tires were conducted. Several installations of various capacity were produced. 2013. An updated modification of “EURO” which received the prefix CK-2 was developed. A new furnace, a complete mechanization of control, advanced heat- resistant and insulating materials - this is a brief description of CK-2 “EURO”. 2013-2014. A new charcoal kiln CK-3 “EURO” was designed and manufactured. The main advantage is the global elimination of all structural shortcomings of the first and second generations of «EURO» – type kilns.

Sales office of the company was opened in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. New kinds of GreenPower production were implemented: • Multicyclones • Bag and coal filters • Heat generators • Heating boilers 2015. Works on developing and manufacturing of multicyclones were conducted, the formers are the part of the group of mechanical cleaners with a high-efficiency dry cleaning method. The cleaning efficiency of particle size of 5÷10 μm makes 90%, while the bigger particle size makes 99%. More than 500 charcoal kilns have been manufactured for all the time of the company’s existence; they have been installed by our specialists in different parts of the world. GROUP 5 Equipment for drying of phytogenic materials Drying complexes are only slightly presented on the market, at the same time few of manufacturers of phytogenic wastes offer this equipment. There is not factory equipment for industrial drying of wood for pyrolysis, the given process is fundamentally different from the widespread drying process of business and technical wood. We developed and fabricated the first charcoal kiln, where the raw material is not replaced from “drying” chamber to “pyrolysis” chamber. Advantages: 1. Helpful information Manufacturing time is up to 60 days (manufacturing can be faster if there are finished products in stock). The percent yield of charcoal is 33-38% of the mass of absolutely dry raw material. The humidity of freshly cut wood is 55%. During the sap flow period the humidity is 70%. The size of firewood cross section should not exceed 150 mm, the length ‒ 300-330 mm.
The cost of equipment does not include installation, commissioning works and training of the customer’s personnel. The warranty of the equipment is one year!!! Helpful information regarding the Pini-kay briquette charcoal
Charcoal output depends on the process intensity. The trolleys are moved by the platform. 1-3 kilns can be operated by 2-3 persons (loading/unloading the trolleys and kiln control). But the workers for raw material preparation and packing of charcoal should be considered as well. The equipment can be operated 24 hours a day. Our kilns can be demonstrated in different regions by agreement with a customer. Terms of payment: 60% advance payment, 40% to the fact of manufacturing. Delivery of the equipment is on the customer’s expenses.

Charcoal kiln CK «Continuous” The unit is used for continuous charcoal production from hardwood. Production capacity of this kiln is 3400 tons / year of charcoal. Charcoal yield using hardwood is not less than 116 kg/m³. The charcoal-burning plant includes a vertical kiln of shaft type, a vertical twin wood dryer, a recovery -boiler and a furnace for the pyrolysis products burning, other equipment is in accordance with agreed specifications. The following solutions are used in the unit: • Production process is provided by its own heat due to the complete combustion of the wood pyrolysis products in the large furnace. The resulting flue gases have an enthalpy • This enthalpy is sufficient to effect preliminary wood drying, to provide pyrolysis process and charcoal tempering process and also to produce saturated steam and hot water for household and technical needs • The same solution provides the recycling of liquid phase which is formed during the wood pyrolysis. Wood drying machine One of the recent developments of the company GREENPOWER is a system of equipment for wood drying. Wood drying involves a list of peculiarities, caused by the necessity of fastening the process of moisture evacuation out of splitwood.
The main difference between wood drying and sawdust drying is a higher drying agent temperature necessary for the increase of the speed of moisture evaporation from wood surface. A high coefficient of efficiency. We have reached this due to the completely new method of wood drying: direct contact of wood with heat carrier moving at a fast pace. Herewith due to the fact that raw material moves in the trolleys, it is possible maximum efficiently to use the working space of the chamber. The functions of the control of the heat carrier temperature at the outlet from the heat generator and at the inlet to the chamber lets prevent «wood cementation». Drying chambers of the companyGREENPOWER are equipped with a heat pump and other systems of warmth recuperation and condensation. The main principle of drying lies in functioning of the systems of ingoing and outgoing air. The heated air is headed off to the trolleys with wood and gives up heat, then it saturates with evolving from wood moisture and changes for the new portion of air.

The installation structure and operation
The material is supplied manually into the hopper (2), located above the vibrating tray (1). Vibrating tray makes vibrating motions due to inertial vibrator. Under the vibration action material moves along the tray and is poured on a moving bucket conveyor (B). The conveyor drive is provided by motor reducer. The conveyor unloads the material to the hopper (5). The material is moved to the vibration feeder tray (10) from the hopper. The material supply is regulated by the valve (7). Vibration feeder makes vibrating motions because of the vibrational magnet (8). The material is poured into the weigh hopper (11), suspended to the beam strain sensor (9). In case of the hopper overow (5) volumetric sensor (6) sends a signal to stop the vibrating tray (3) and the bucket conveyor (B). Measurement of dose mass and dosing process control is provided by the controller (12). The required dose is set on the remote controller. After the dose dialing, vibrational magnets stop vibrating and the controller display shows the message The dose is ready. The operator controls the process using the pedal (13).

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COMPLEX Waste processing complex with a capacity of 300 kg/hour is produced in a stationary (block-container) or mobile (on the railway or automobile platform) variants and consists of: 1. Waste receiving and charging module. The module includes receiving bunker for accumulation and storage of solid household waste coming for processing. Hydraulic manipulator with oil-pumping station for preliminary preparation (ripping) and waste supply to the sorting module (sorting line). Waste sorting module (sorting line). The module (sorting line) contains the next basic elements: loading conveyor with a sorting cabin receiving bunker, sorting conveyor with receiving bunker, off-loading conveyor with receiving hopper and storage hopper. Module of thermocatalytiс decomposition of the residues. It provides ultimate thermal decomposition of the organic part of the disposable waste with further gasification of chlorine and fluororganic compounds, hydrocarbon waste with further destruction and oxidation of gasification products. Module of flue gases cooling and heat energy utilization. The module provides cooling of flue gases leaving afterburning chamber of the kiln at a temperature from 900-1100°С to 120-150°С by means of heat transfer for water heating used in the heating network and hot water systems and for air heating supplied into the kiln for the process of burning. Module of flue gases neutralization and purification. Quantity and types of cleaning facilities were selected to the effect that to provide purification of flue gases from harmful components up to the concentrations stated in the EU directive 2000/76/ЕС of waste burning. Module of noncombustible residue (ash) removal. It is equipped with changeable tanks used to remove noncombustible residue from the kiln ashpit and containers for its intermediate storage. System of safety complex control. This system is to provide safety complex operation; control and regulation of thermal conditions of the kiln and afterburning chamber, underpressure along the gas path, safety shutdown of the complex in the emergency situations. Flue gases disposal system. The system includes a set of gas ducts, smoke pipes, smoke exhauster and chimney.

EQUIPMENT FOR TIRES, INDUSTRIAL RUBBER PRODUCTS AND POLYMERS PROCESSING using the method of low temperature pyrolysis Having a rich manufacturing experience (since 2006) our company has developed the equipment for waste tires processing which, unlike the rest, works well and effectively. Tires and plastics are valuable raw material, and after processing it using the method of low temperature pyrolysis the following substances are emitted: • Liquid hydrocarbon fractions • Carbon residue • Metal cord • Flammable gas At the same time after burning of 1 ton of tires, 270 kg of soot and 450 kg of toxic gases are emitted into the atmosphere. The equipment kit includes a few pyrolysis reactors (at the customer’s request) and a range of additional equipment. The productivity of one reactor is up to 800 tone of prepared rubber per cycle (one cycle duration is 10-12 hours) and the result of processing surpasses all analogues. 1 ton of the industrial rubber products provides: • Pyrolysis gas – 100 m³ • Synthetic oil 350-400 kg • Technical carbon 250-300 kg • Metal cord 200-250 kg The small plant organization requires the following components: • Vehicle for tires collection • Forklift 1.5 ton • Beam crane 1-2 ton • Area with hard surface 500-1000m² • Water for household needs • Household premises • Electric power up to 30 kW / h • Cumulative capacity of 25-30 m³ The plant can consist of 1 to 6 boilers that are maintained by 4-15 persons. Short description of the process of the rubber industrial product processing Milled rubber industrial products are loaded into retort, after that using a telpher or other lifting mechanism retort is placed into pyrolysis plant (reactor), and subjected to heat up to 500 °Х without oxygen (pyrolysis process), whereby a steam-gas mixture is formed and is directed into the condensation system under natural pressure. Liquid hydrocarbon fractions formed by condensation may be separated, it makes possible to receive different petroleum fractions. Non- condensable residue falls into the furnace and is burned there for process support. Excess gas is used to generate heating or electric energy. The duration of pyrolysis process (active mode) is 10-12 hours. Further the pyrolysis plant is switched to cooling mode. After 12 hours the retort is unloaded from pyrolysis plant using a telpher. Raw material is delivered and unloaded at the warehouse. Further along the conveyor it is transferred to the crusher and further to the storage hopper. From storage hopper the wood chips are transferred into the chamber of the tumble dryer. Hot air from the heat generator also arrives there. The raw material is dried in a hot air stream in the tumble dryer. The raw material is transferred into the swing hammer shredder to obtain a smaller fine fraction, and further into the hopper. Further raw material is finally dried in the air tunnel - pneumatic pipeline. After that, the finished raw material is transferred into the cyclone, where the dry raw material is deposited, the gas-air mixture is discharged outside to the chimney with the help of the smoke exhaust. Dry chopped raw material is transferred out of the cyclone via the rotary valve with the help of the chain conveyor into the hopper of the briquetting press. To avoid long lying of the raw material, it is continuously mixed and supplied into the briquetting chamber of preliminary pressing, from where it is sent to the fixed matrix where the briquette is formed. After pressing the briquette has a high temperature, so it is sent directly to the cooling system of the tunnel type. When passing through the tunnel, the briquette is cooled down, the moisture is reduced and in the result of physicochemical changes the briquette acquires necessary hardness, humidity and temperature. Further the briquette passes through a metal detector and enters the hydraulic briquette crusher or the automatic cross- cutter, where the briquette breaks (cuts) into pieces of a specified size. In this configuration the heat generator is provided with the fuel loading in the manual mode (through the door).

Useful information about PINI-KAY It takes up to 75 days for equipment manufacturing (faster manufacturing is possible if the finished goods are available in stock). It is required 8m³ of natural moisture sawdust (50%) or 6m³of dry sawdust per one tone of briquette. In case of using hardwood (firewood, slab etc.) it is required 2,2m³ per 1t of briquette. Any covered premise minimum 5 meters high with a concrete blinding coat will be sufficient for equipment installation. Heat generator is to be installed outside or in the separate premise. Size of premise including store for finished products is 300 or 650m². Number of workers required for line operation is 4 people (press and dryer-heat generator). But people for raw material preparation and packing should be considered.
