Over 30% of all services we provide are to new mothers. Motherhood is a wonderful time for the whole family but the first few weeks after returning home can be a challenge for the mother to cope with a new baby and all his special needs.

Our Nurses can provide specialized care for premature or low birth weight babies, babies with underlying medical conditions, or those who experienced birth trauma. In addition they can answer questions about caring for your baby, and show you how to breastfeed, change, feed, dress, and bathe your baby safely. Our Nurses can also help with providing specialized care for those mothers that underwent a high-risk pregnancy, or for those that need help with post- cesarean wound care.

Newborns bring limitless excitement and happiness to the brand new parents. At the same time, caring for a new born can be a daunting experience. Especially, the first few weeks of coming home with a new born can make you feel as though your life is out of control. It can leave you anxious and stressed. Many questions might be going through your mind wondering if the baby is being fed enough, if the baby is comfortable, can I trust my baby with someone other than me, am I giving enough care for my other child. Even though, there might not be a lot of things you could do but there are ways that you can deal with the stress. Here are some tips to cope with the situation and enjoy the bundle of blessing you received: Sleep You need to rest as much as possible. Follow the simple rule of sleeping when the baby is sleeping.

Relax Plan 30 minutes of “me time every day. Use the time to read a book, watch television, go for a walk, meditate or do anything that helps you destress. Make your spouse or someone you trust take care of the baby at that time, without your interference.

Eat healthy foods Eating healthy food has a direct relationship on the mood. Right quality and quantity of food will give you the required energy level.

Exercise Though it is not advisable to do a long workout, you can do simple postnatal exercises at home, after consulting with your doctor. You can plan on taking the baby out for a walk. Short bursts of physical activity will help in elevating the mood

Get Help Accept help from friends and family who are ready to take care of the newborn for a few hours every day. If that is not an option for you, approach home health providers in your region who have trained medical caretakers to support new parents. You need to accept the fact that is not possible to do it all and accept help. Lastly, it is completely normal to feel like you are on an emotional roller coaster for the first ten days. However, if it crosses two weeks you need to get medical help. Contact Us India Home Health Care in India CHENNAI India Home Health Care Pvt. Ltd.
