August 31, 2015 I-Hung Lee Summer Internship HOK, Washington, DC
I-Hung’s performance during his internship at HOK exceeded my expectations, he is a quick learner with a great positive attitude. He was able to plug into project teams almost immediately and was always willing to put in the extra effort to meet deadlines and help the team. I was impressed with how quickly he picked up on Revit and Photoshop software, and how he understood our standards and expectations for contact documents as well as presentations. The quality of work was excellent, he demonstrated initiative to research ideas and code issues before reviewing with the team. He was able to adapt and understand direction quickly and efficiently. I worked with I-Hung on a daily basis, often checking in on his progress several times a day during his internship. He would come to me with questions as he progressed with his assignments. I would definitely recommend I-Hung for employment in the design field, and hope that he will consider HOK in the future.

Cultural Platter PROBLEM STATEMENT What factors can foster informal collaboration in the workplace and encourage cultural diversity to create positive social interactions in the dining area?
INTRODUCTION The dining area in the workplace provides employees a positive work environment. New workers from different backgrounds and different generations pursue flexibility of social interactions and a home-like feeling in their workspace. Connecting those different individuals to work in the same environment is the purpose of the workplace ecosystem concept; it allows workers to choose where they want to eat and meet; people are no longer limited to one box or another. Also, the ecosystem environment contains informal interactions and avoids unnecessary interruptions to other workers. People can focus on their job without being annoyed or distracted by others' conversations.

From researching workplace materials, we can discover there are six critical types of interactions that occur in a multiple-culture workplace environment. Those elements are personal distance, interpersonal relationships, hierarchy, conversation style, conflicts at work, and work style. Although people from different cultural backgrounds can react differently in the same workplace environment, their needs in an oice are the same. An ecosystem workplace environment can allow them to restore and recharge their energy, and help them to perform better in their jobs.
Pantry Area
Kitchen
More and more research has fo cused on workplace design because of the increasing needs of employees in offices. To increase workers' performance, workplace experts have developed many kinds of workplace spaces and interior elements to help employees focus on their jobs and improve cooperation between individuals. However, the kitchen design in the workplace still has been left out of other design concepts. From the dining precedents diagram, we can observe the needs are increasing, and it is hard to ignore the issue.

The right rendering is the food service station area. To increase the space in this area, I remove unnecessary partitions but design a light structure system to create light shadows. People can use this light show to know where the check-out area is and to form a line.
Building a community center that will encourage tourists, residents, and students to come in and use a bike rental service and trigger the motivation to engage in bike transportation. The community center can provide awareness of beneits and safe environment to neighbors.

Advanced Community Center Project
SAVANNAHUB
In this quarter, we focused on continuing the further study of the interior design process by investigating and identifying the better multifunction interior environments. Savannahub located in the heart of downtown, it encourages tourists to engage in bike transportation and use bike rentals service. The community center will provide neighborhood safety. Savannahub will use bike wheel as design element in interior, the circular form of the wheel is used as an important element to the mechanical system of bike rentals. Each bike become one part of the art installation in the environment, the retail store will invite Rubber Bike Shop as the sponsor to promote the travels in Savannah. Base on the user researches three necessary design components in this environment are the retail store, the cofee counter, and the exhibition room.

HJ FLORIST 602 Montgomery St, Savannah Historic District The florist shop, will adapt patterns, textures, and decorative elements those are based on traditional motifs from other cultures to design the interior of the lorist, in other hand,. he lorist shop not only introduces foreign life style to their customers, but also they sell flower artworks and based on foreign life style. In their living area, the apartment will have cozy spaces to relax with a book. he disabled person can enjoy the environment and feels no restrictions.
New front display window can get people’s attention. People see the florist shop from this display window, his creates a picture that not only displays their lower works, but also it has been regarded as the spirit of their brand, expressing travel and other cultures.
Old bricks are used as the display wall of the f lorist shop. The pattern of the display wall is based on traditional motifs from Asian culture is incorporated into the interior.
he suspended stairs with high ceiling that creates an open feeling in this environment, and the position of the rooms ofers mild daylight atsun rise.
From site analysis, we can ind out west sun screen will locate on the west side of the building (facing the Montgomery Street) in sunset time, which means this area will be really hot in aternoon. he west side faces the main traffic road, and the traffic noises also come from this side. In this renovating project, the west side of building has better views than other sides. When designing this building, avoiding west part of the building to be the bedroom for living area, but in the working area, west part of the building is the best location for the lorist shop.
Allowing the disable wife to access all of the flowers shop and their home. All furnitureand interior items are convenient to use.
Creating high ceilings, using light colors, reducing excessive partitions to separate each space, those are the three main directions to the interior.
he lorist shop will not be a traditional one that only sells flowers, but regards every lower arrangementas art works. Creating the environment to be a museum or gallery that displays lorist art works.
In the lorist shop, the display walls and the refrigerator as partitions, those are the best partitions to separate different areas and do not take too much unnecessary spaces. Also, the diferent tiles of the loor imply diferent areas as well. When people enter this environment from the back door, they could notice the certain places those belongs private areas. The suspended stairs with high ceiling that creates no pressure feeling in this environment, and the position of the building can enjoy mild daylight when sun rise.

Transition
At the Gulfstream Center for Furniture and Industrial Design, the main entrance has not been given sufficient consideration through design of the human behavior and the social interaction needs of its users.
Analyzing Problems and Solutions After identified human behaviors, we intend to explore more about why people have behavior pattern to use that environment. Then in this process, we analyze those spaces by examining the good, bad and ugly points of those places, and Inspect thoroughly to determine what are the most important factors are missing in this environment. hose are: 1.No enough artiicial lighting at night 2.People smoke too close to the entrance because of the smoke pillar 3.No enough seating area 4.Sound issues
Design development
Base on human activities and key features of each area, 8 individual zones in front of Gulfstream building those are: 1.Rest area 2.Entrance 3.Ramp 4.Bike 5.Bus stop area 6.Sidewalk 7.Green and vegetation 8.Drive way
From our research, starting to design the product which can solve the existing problem of lacking seats. Tried to solve the seating issues for allowing people to stay in this area, handrails are the seat structure for saving more space. Folding furniture is the solution for this public environment.

BAMBOO LIGHT he bamboo light could stand in the corner of the interior of a building or solid on the wall, like a work of art. Bamboo is thick and stable but can be penetrated by light. he emitted light is sot and atmospheric, and it is as if the light could print a warm mark on a cold concrete wall.
GENERATED IN DRAGONFLY COMPANY
Bamboo is a versatile and useful material in design, considering it only takes 1 or 2 years to reach maturity; and also has the texture of wood. he most important thing is that is easy to get hold of in Taiwan. Taking the Chinese traditional window pattern to light pattern, äşş (which means people). In Chinese culture this character and shape represents welcoming guests home. he design gives an elegant shadow and high heat dissipation.
Cle de peau is an upscale luxury brand, maintaining a unique and respected characteristic that is crucial in this spatial. When planning the layout of space, I must consider the distance between customers and stage.Meanwhile, my duty was to produce the display products to present as jewelry as well; choosing material and processing that took a lot of time. But the result was beautiful.
