Smart Living City Dubai 2014 is an event hosted by Tasweek and Inside Investor under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, to accelerate smart business programs in Dubai. Dubai has set the vision to become the smartest city in the world over the next 3 years. The concept of Smart City has been introduced as a strategic device to highlight the growing importance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), social and environmental capital in profiling the competitiveness of cities. A city can be defined as ‘smart’ when investments in human and social capital and traditional (transport) and modern (ICT) communication infrastructure fuel sustainable economic development and a high quality of life, with a wise management of natural resources, through participatory action and engagement.
