Day One CSR Foundations And Stakeholder Engagement CSR Foundations – Concepts And Frameworks The biggest challenge for many CSR professionals is to differentiate their CSR initiatives from their corporate charity contributions and to invest in strategic CSR programmes. Day Two The New International Social Responsibility Standard – ISO 26000 The ISO 26000 is the new set of guidelines from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) dealing with Social Responsibility (SR) for all forms of organisations. The ISO provides formal global standards such as ISO 14000 for environmental management and ISO 9000 for quality management. The ISO 26000 guidelines from ISO set the framework for the future of responsible management and provide practical assistance to implement social responsibility, identify and engage with stakeholders and enhance the transparency and credibility of reports and other communication about social responsibility.

It aims to make non-financial reporting as straight-forward and comparable as normal financial accounts. CSR Reporting II: Maximising Impact Using International Frameworks The GRI-G4 International Gold Standard For CSR Reporting Advanced CSR Reporting To GRI-G4 Standards This session will cover the central building blocks of the GRI, the protocols for disclosure on management approach, the standard reporting protocols, understanding performance indicators – where to find them and how to use them and the special reporting requirements for specific industrial sectors. Day Four Social Return On Investment (SROI) Understanding the impact of your CSR programmes using SROI methods is a central part of creating and managing a successful social and environmental portfolio. Understanding The Social Impact Of Your CSR Programmes Using real life examples and drawing on your own project experiences, this session introduces you to the main principles of SROI so that you can: • Understand the impact of your CSR programmes on each stakeholder group • Use impact maps to understand how organisations create social value and change • Attribute outcomes to other organisations and use deadweight and displacement techniques to take account of what would have happened anyway • Assess materiality by reference to public policy, best practice, local values, stakeholders and financial resources • Find monetary and financial proxies to ensure inclusion of the issues that are relevant to all those affected; Real Life SROI Using projects that you are currently running or planning to introduce, this session will bring your team together to run a real life SROI assessment which will be brainstormed and refined through experience sharing and analysis. At the end of this interactive session you will be able to take back to your organisation a real life example of SROI in action which you can use to build impact into your own CSR programmes.

Meet Your Expert Course Director Dr Geoffrey Williams is the Director of the Academy of Responsible Management Sdn Bhd and a founder and Chief Executive Officer of Williams Business Consulting Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and Singapore, one of Asia’s leading CSR companies. He is a Deputy- Chair of the EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) CSR Committee and Chair of the EUMCCI Education Committee. Geoffrey’s most recent work has focussed on Corporate Social Responsibility in a global context and in particular, on the factors that determine the success of CSR initiatives in different socio-political contexts. He has worked with leading international companies and organisations including PETRONAS, UEM Group, PLUS Expressways Berhad, UMW Holdings Berhad, MRCB, Resorts World Berhad, du – the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the International Labour Organisation, the European Commission and many others. Geoffrey has held academic positions at London Business School, Pembroke College University of Oxford and the Universities of London, Nottingham, Liverpool and elsewhere. His work has been published in leading academic journals including Oxford Review of Economic Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organisation, Research Policy, Business Ethics: A European Review, Review of Income and Wealth, European Competition Law Review, Review of Financial Economics, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, Information Economics and Policy, Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, International Review of Business and Economics.
