He has worked in the USA and the Middle East, providing consulting and training for many global and regional organisations in different sectors including government, town planning, engineering, consumer products, information technology, systems integration and new product development. Since 2008, he has been based in Dubai, providing consulting and training services to project professionals in the Middle East and Gulf region, covering such topics as project management, risk management and programme management. Prior to coming to the UAE, Edward held several high ranking leadership positions in the USA with many of the large organisations such as GE, Gillette (P&G), Philips Electronics, Analog Devices, Teradyne, Fidelity Investments and Bank of America, to name a few. He served in varying management roles ranging from operations to projects to leading high performance PMOs. He is an expert at assessing and designing custom methodologies for portfolio, project, and programmes, creating and setting up new and strategically aligned PMO’s, as well as building efficiency through the use of Six Sigma, business process and organisational modelling, and requirements management. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® from PMI, certified Program Management Professional (PgMP)® from PMI, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) from The IIBA, Project Management Office Certified (PMOC), and a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB). He holds a Master of Science degree in “Management of Programs and Projects” and a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, both from the USA. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Course Overview PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)® is a specialized creditential offered by the Project Management Institute – PMI – in response to the growing need of professionals who specialise in project risk management. This course offers an in-depth look at risk management through a PMI perspective, and is delivered in a combination of lectures and hands-on learning. All components of risk management will be covered including planning, identification, qualification, quantification, response planning and monitoring and controlling risks. You will learn to maximise the results of positive project events, and minimise the consequences of adverse events, both internal and external to the project. All delegates will be supplied with customised course materials that will help in preparing for the exam. This workshop includes exercises and lots of sample questions that will build your confidence and raise your chances of passing the PMI-RMP® exam on your first attempt.
Course Objectives This course will: • Prepare delegates to sit for the PMI-RMP® exam • Increase the likelihood of passing on your first attempt • Teach the delegates about project risk management in detail so they can apply it in their own work • Provide an opportunity to understand the risks inherent in projects and how to plan for them This course will entitle delegates to 30 Professional Development Units (PDUs) required for the PMI-RMP® certification exam.
Course Format This course is presented as PowerPoint presentations that are explained by the instructor, while keeping the delegates engaged via real-life examples and topic discussions. Flip boards and charts will be used to demonstrate key points. You will also be given quizzes under each knowledge area to solidify your knowledge, as well as offer additional practice questions to take home and prepare for the exam.
