kidnapped from his house penultimate Sund ay by a gang of kidnappers, who operate in Abuja as well as Akwa Ibom State. A witness said the gang requested for N21 million and policemen from SARS took over the negotiation for the money, pretending to be members of Dizengoff Company.
He said some of the gang members agreed to meet with the SARS officials at a popular fast food eatery at Gwagwalada, which led to a shoot out as well as the capture of two suspects. "On Sunday night, the suspects led the police to where their victims were kept and another shoot out occurred that led to the death
of one of their members, while one was wounded and another captured:' he stated. He said their victim was released unhurt, while the police are on the trail of other members of the gang. When contacted yesterday, FCT Police Spokesman, Superintel'dent Jimo bMoshood, declined to comment on the issue.

THE police in Abuja yesterday arraigned a 25-year-old girl, Nanyil Larfa, before an Abuja Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing N15,000 from her boyfriend's room. The girl, who claimed to be a diploma holder was accused of committing the offence on March 14 and charged wi th theft, an .-llffi:uce punishable under Section 287 of the Penal Code. Police prosecutor, Yilkudi Dungji, informed the court that on April 13, one Ohana Andrew of Lugbe, Zone 8, Abuja, reported to the police that his girl friend . stole money from his room. "The complainant left the accused in his room and we nt out but when he returned, he discovered that the accused had dishonestly stolen N15,000 from his room and converted it to her personal use and absconded from his house;' the prosecutor stated. When the charge was read to the accused, she pleaded not guilty and . sought for ball, while the prosecutor asked for a hearing date. Magistrate Hauwa Aliyu granted the accused bail in the sum ofN LOO,OOO with a surety in like swn, who must reside within the court's jurisdiction. The case was adjourned to May 19 for hearing.
