Egbeda LG boss bags award By Tolu Olamirikl

HE Chairman Caretaker Committee of Egbeda Local Government Area, Oyo State, Mr Kolawole Oke, has been commended by the national president of a Non-Govemmental Organisation (NGO) Success Enable Profile Limited in conjunction with the Dyo State Youth Assembly, Mr. Kehinde Akinyemi, for the physical transformation of the council area. The commendation was made during the presentation of an award to the local government chairman for his selfless humanitarian services to the people of the local goven1ffient. While x-raying his performance since assumption of office in 2007, Hon Oke said that a sum of NSm was recently expended on drugs for all the 28 primary health

centres while drugs worth N200,OOO were distribu ted to all the health centres monthly. The chairman said that the Jntemally Generated Revenue (IGR) and the monthly allocation were the main soUI'(ESof revenue while payment of salaries and allowances of workers were not left out and said that renovation of schools and building of more structures in aU the wards of the council area were given priority. Hon Oke who said that the prudent management of human and material reSOurces endeared him into the heart of the people, equally said that rehabilitation and construction of motorable roads were given priority so as to uplift the socio-economic well-being of the people. The roads included Maku; Olosan; Oke Koto; Oorelope/Sawmill; Som il ojo/ldi Osan; Adekola; Ogungbade; Alabebe; Jinarere; Odan; among others while construction of bridges were not leftou!.

Farmers honour Oluyole LG boss T

HE Caretaker Committee Chairman of Oluyole Local Governement Area of Oyo State, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, has been installed Asiwaju Agbe by the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Oluyole Local Government chapter.

Alh . Olaosebikan received the prestigious title at a capacity building forum for the loca l government farmers organ ised by the Feed Nigeria Initiative, held at Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN). The council boss asse rted that the items distributed to farmers

were cutlasses, sprayers, etc. meant to aid them in their farming activities with the aim of b<.>osting production. Alh Olaosebikan remarked further that the idea behind the mass rehabilitation of roads by his administration was to enhance accessibility of farm prod-

ucts. In his remark, the chai rm an of the Farmers Association in the local government, Mr. Ismail Osuolale, extolled the virtues of the council chairman for valious unprecedented achievements in many areas of infrastructural development.

Sardauna council chief assures on projects Celestine Ihejirika, Jalingo HE caretaker chairman of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, Mr Oliver Wubon, has said he will work towards sustaining peace on the Mambilla Plateau. Speaking during a reception organized for him in Gembu, the headquarters of the council , the caretaker chairman said Sardauna local government was endowed with abundant natural resources suitable for foreign investors and therefore needed constant peace in the area . would run an open door administration that will embrace a ll shades of opinion. He added that he would use his office to press more on federal projects in addition to the Mambilla hydroelectric power dam. In same vein, the Permanent Secretary, Home Affairs and Establishment Matters, Mr. Japhet Wubo, expressed gratitude to Governor Danbaba Suntai and stakeholders of Sardauna Local Government for the gesture done to the family in particular and people of sardauna in general for appointing one of their sons to head the council.

Saki East LG boss makes case for gov T HE Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Saki East Local Government Area of Oyo State, Dr. Francis Ayandele, has called on the peoplwe of the local government area to vote for Governor Adebayo A1ao-Akala, during the forthcoming gubernatorial election. Dr. Ayandele said that Governor A1ao-Akala deserved another four years in office conSidering his monumental achievements since the last four years. "You may wish to recall that recently, Otunba Alao-Akala was here, I mean Saki East Local Government telling us that we should allow his good

work to continue, and we the people of Saki East have resolved to cast our votes for him in the next gubernatorial election and same for all candidates on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party," he added . Dr. Ayandele urged the people of the local government to ensure that they exercised their rights during the 2011 general elections, while also calling for rancour-free and peaceful conduct among political parties during the elections. Meanwhile, the Chairman, went on a facility tour to Oke-Ogun F.M %.3. Welcoming the chairman and his entourage,

He added that the governor has served fruits of democracy to the people of the state better than any of hi s predecessors. " We constructed the Atipe-Bolude road to ease traffic congestion in the council area, work is on-gOing Agbakin/ Iwo road as well as a tripple cell reinforced concrete box culvert on Ajibola / Koloko road," he added. Akinsola also lauded his predecessor in office, Arole Gbenga Adewusi for laying the foundation for good governancl> in the council area. The council helmsman used the opportunity to solicit for the support and co-operation of the people in his efforts to move the council forward.
