Project GAUDI
Year 2018.
About the project
A sketch (by Ricardo Obispo) of an older Antoni Gaudi working in his studio at the Sagrada Familia.
As participants in the Erasmus + program, the founders of this project met at a course in Barcelona, Antoni Gaudi's city of inspiration. This way we want to integrate eTwinning into Erasmus + KA1 projects of both schools. The main idea is to note the connection between history, mathematics, nature, art, the world itself, and so on, just like Gaudi used to do, and to integrate them, through an innovative way of learning, into creative visual and usable works.
Aims The aim of this project is to improve schooling and provide examples of good practice for innovative teaching approaches. We want to make use of TwinSpace tools to bring together Gaudin's work as an inspirational topic, improving student competencies such as: group collaboration, critical and creative thinking, metacognition, the ability to understand and use innovative approaches to learning (such as project-based learning, inquiry based learning, task based learning and so on) as additional learning goals in line with our KA1 aims. We also want to focus on students communication skills and usage of IT tools. This way we plan to motivate and encourage students to get more involved in classroom and out of it, so they could live up to their true potential.
One of the few portraits of Gaudi. Taken in 1878, just at the beginning of his career.
Work process The project will last from February to July 2018. All activities will refer to the character, social framework and work of Antoni Gaudi. Partners will equally share responsibility for project planning and implementation. All partners will be involved in the making suggestions, choosing topics and assignments, participating in discussions and creating their own pages on the Twin Space. Depending on the specific tasks, students will work individually, in pairs or in groups. Topics covered in the project will be adapted and suitable to the curriculum of each country and grades. We will work on: - Co-operative calendars and project planning; - School presentations and facts related to personality and life of Antoni Gaudi; - Activities related to various objects as the main sources of inspiration for Gaudi; - Two online meeting participants; - Evaluation and dissemination of the project.
A bust of Atoni Gaudi by Josep Maria Subirachs i Sitjar, the Catalan sculptor responsible for the figures on the Passion Faรงade of the Sagrada Familia.
Expected results Tangible: Number of new examples of good practice and lessons, in correlation with teachers from two founding schools and other eTwinning colleagues, working together. The products of cooperation (educational resources) will be published as an e-book / magazine. Designing a logo and character as represent of the project. Intangible: To more effectively develop individual skills and improve students' academic results using different learning methods. To improve their ICT and communication skills. To motivate students, to develop their love for different subjects. To enable them to access learning in different ways and teach them how to use their knowledge and see it everywhere around.
