The Aral Sea 9
This collection is a reflection and denunciation of the human footprint in our ecosystem. An ecosystem sick of overproduction and ruthless exploitation of natural and human resources, in which the fashion industry has a significant responsibility. The starting point is one of the most dramatic man-made ecological disasters: the disappearance of the Aral Sea. 10
The toxic desert sea bed that has turned the Aral Sea into and the oxidation of the abandoned boats are the source of inspiration for this collection. The fusion of iron with the desert sand is worked combining very different textures that are merged using artisanal techniques. The prints are based on drawings from Central Asia and they are created from a zoom of iconographic elements. They are copper-colored printed using the silkscreen technique.

DYSMORPHIA
The A / W ’19 -’20 DYSMORPHIA collection is about body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) (formerly known as dysmorphophobia). It is a somatomorphic disorder that consists of an unusual concern about a defect, whether real or imagined, perceived in one’s own physical characteristics (self-image). If this defect exists, the worry and anxiety experienced by these people is excessive, since they perceive it in an exaggerated way. They will avoid looking in the mirror. Or they could do the opposite, look excessively and compulsively in the mirror, analyzing and criticizing all their defects.

The purpose of this collection is to raise public awareness and sensitize people on the issue of BDD, and help people change their views before reaching this point. Clothing is something that when you put it on makes you feel good, it makes you feel special. It is our way of saying that each body is beautiful, it has no defects, only things that make it unique. And these are the things that have to empower us. Because perfection is boring.

In this collection 5 elements were worked. 1. Textures: Reference to the small flaws that a
person with BDD believes they have. Fabrics used inside out (to get its interior texture), corduroy, jaquard, thick knit and handmade tapestry fabrics, are some of those used in this collection.
2. Volumes: Reference to bigger flaws. We find them
in the form of balls, quilts or general form of the garment.
3. Broken faces: Reference to what the person feels anxiety, despair, pain. 4. Raw edges: Reference to the feeling of not feeling complete. 5. External seams: Reference to the attempt to make yourself feel complete.

volumes The inspiration of this capsule collection was an apartment building by the architect Ricardo Bofill Levi, which is called “La Muralla Roja”, located in Calpe, Alicante. What caught my attention and inspired me were 2 things: 1st its geometry and 2nd its colors. The concept of the “Cubismo Pastel” collection is to create a collection that follows the shapes of the “La Muralla Roja” building, that is, the cubes with sharp edges and the diagonal lines, as well as the chromatic range of this building.

The concept of the Resilient collection consists in the fusion of antagonistic concepts, such as the rigid and the fluid; wool and leather; the urban and the classic. It would evoke a metaphor for daily contrasts and the social symbiosis in which we live. A Spring / Summer capsule collection, consisting of 10 streetwear looks, combinable with each other and highly functional.

The inspiration for this capsule collection was the diners that can be found along Route 66 and especially its aesthetics of the ‘50s. The vintage cars that we can see in many photos of this era were also a source of inspiration, with their sharp lines and metallic details. Silhouettes follow the concept of American fashion of the ‘50s, but they are worked alongside the details of inspiration. For example, triangular shapes remind us the shapes of the cars and padded details the diner stools.
