Medo Brundo (Zagreb - Retkovec )
Conceived as a single-storey mat building - the kindergarten was designed to be compact, introverted and autocatylytic, whilst allowing for maximum natural light. The local suburban matrix is echoed in the repetitive small-scale structure of units and patios, offering a variety of open-air and transitory spaces. Children and staff premises are intermingling, allowing the child a glimpse into various professions and their daily activities. Together, this gives the child an urban experience that has been condensed into a single building.
