THE FORTUNE IS IN THE FOLLOW UP

One of the most important skills to master as a business owner is FOLLOW UP! Have you heard the phrase ‘The fortune is in the follow-up?’ Most likely you have but do you really run your business with that in mind?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed out on BIG opportunities, just because I haven’t properly followed up. On the flip side, I can think of people who have followed up with me (2, 4, 6 + times) who I’ve end up working with, hiring, collaborating with or purchasing what they had to offer because they didn’t give up and they continued to politely and professionally follow up.

So let me ask this:

What holds you back from following up with someone? Is it fear? Do we worry we are annoying or bugging them? Do we think just because they are not responding that they are not interested? Maybe we don’t know what to say or how to follow in a way that’s both polite and effective?
