Located at Bagan Lalang beach, the shelter is a translation of a seashell. The curves are directed inward to create a sense of security. Semicircle platforms stacks up to form layers and level creating movement and function as a sitting area.
RESIDENTIAL
02
The residential assignment was to study on form and space that is linked to the environment and the case study of the chosen client. The client chosen was Ian Wright, a presenter of a travelling show. With his bubbly and witty character, the challenge is to create a home that matches his energy.
The spaces was purposely separated into different units that is linked by outdoor pathways. Communicating to the environment, the site sets on a hill where levelling are taken into the design. The house embraces the natural element where trees punches thru the spaces provided.

In context with the study, I implement recycled materials to add colours to the building. Ian being a beer fan, recycle glass bottles are embedded into concrete walls, bottle caps flooring, and plastic bottles for handrail design. Other materials used are recycled metal decking, wheels and CD casing’s for windows. Each spaces has a different touch to it so that when the client moves about in the retreat house, it is mimicking a traveller’s journey.

COMMERCIAL
04
The commercial assignment was to translate a brand into a facade of a shop lot. Levi’s jeans was created in 1853 for working men. The bright red brick tiles shows continuity from the façade to the entrance of the shop that is set in. The windows are pushed back to create depth and dimension to the façade while decreasing direct sunlight.

The sturdy quality of the jeans is directly translated on the facade by means of holding a gap of the brick wall. The pocket jeans is made of recycled jeans coated with polyurethane to stand the environment.
INSTITUITIONAL
06
The awareness centre sets at a public plaza to educate children, young adults, and working people about the importance of being healthy. The intention was to educate people in a fun manner. The idea was to have a basic steel framing cube with panelling that makes it flexible to change the settings and programs. Playing with colours and openings to the facade attracts people to enter the centre.
