Fighting Illini cross country camp gives athletes the knowledge and understanding of distance running in a fun and motivational atmosphere in order to prepare the athletes to have success in future seasons. Camp dates enable athletes to continue training in a structured environment during the IHSA dead-week. Campers train with runners from around the Midwest, learn from collegiate coaches on practical and technical aspects and listen to elite collegiate and post-collegiate athletes that have experienced the top levels of running and are experts in training. The University of Illinois is located in Urbana-Champaign. Literally at a Midwest “crossroads,� Champaign County lies halfway between the Windy City of Chicago and St. Louis. East or westbound travelers find Champaign halfway between Indianapolis and Peoria. Surrounded by farmland and parks, the city makes for a great location for sports and outdoor activities.

Check-in: Sunday, Aug 2nd (2:00pm-3:00pm) Checkout: Thursday, Aug 6th (11:30AM) (The first meal is dinner on the first evening; the last meal is breakfast on the last day)

Residents: $400 (Includes four nights lodging, meals, instruction, recreation, and camp T-shirt) Commuter: $350 (Includes all meals, instruction, recreation, and camp T-shirt) *Register at least 4 people from a team and receive a $25 discount (The camp is open to any and all boys and girls ages 12-18.)

Campers will stay in university air conditioned dorms. Campers will be grouped with friends or campers with similar age at check-in. Camp staff will provide supervision. Parking will be provided for campers who drive themselves to camp.

Current University of Illinois runners and assistant coaches will serve as camp counselors. They will be joined by additional high-quality athletes from the Midwest, as well as successful coaches from high school and college teams. Individual attention will be ensured.

Campers will have access to the UI Armory Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. Campers will also train on the University South Farms and the UI Arboretum, which is home to Illinois Cross Country and was site of the 2012 Big Ten Championships. All of these miles provide soft surfaces and allow for a variety of training.
