Jakarta Youth Speak Forum: Transforming our world through youth! “Entrpreneurship to achieve better economic growth” Jakarta, March 11th 2016 – One of the main outcomes of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Developement was the agreement by Member States to launch a process to develop a set of sustainable development goals (SDGs).1 The agenda is to tackle every issues related to people, planet, and prosperity. This global challenge has made all countries and stakeholders acting in collborative partnership to implement the plan. The determination to take bold and transformative steps are currently needed to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path. Youth believe that alliance with the private sector can boost the impact of change they can bring to this world. Driven by the power and significance of youth-led organisations, youth want to take an action to be aware of the Sustainable Development Goals. Youth will play a crucial role in looking what types of experience young people need to go through in order to become the best version of themselves and become leaders in their society. Every representative, from youth to professionals, will collaborate to come up with an idea of the outcomes of the summit. AIESEC as the world’s largest youth run organization will cocreate and give contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals. This is a form of commitment of young people to make the Global Goals happen. “Jakarta Youth Speak Forum” is a one day event of seminar to support 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development initiated by United Nations and powered by AIESEC. We will spread all the values and goals to make the world of 2030, a place where society will be in a better state, happened. This forum will focus in discussing about two out of 17 goals of SDGs; Decent Economic and Sustain Community. We believe that youth in Indonesia are getting more independent as the increasing number of young entrepreneur in Indonesia start to surface. Their spirit to become a future leader will be mediated through this event by giving them the insight to start up their own bussiness and it does not always have to be a high budget bussiness. It can be started from a single hobby. Hence, as part of the global movement, this forum will take place all over Indonesia following University of Indonesia as the first to organize Youth Speak Forum in Jakarta with theme: “Entrepreneurship to achieve better economic growth whilst creating positive impact by accessing new markets and making bolder moves”.
