Dear Valued Customer, Book a Test Drive in the Range Rover Evoque or one of the fabulous new 12 Model Year Range Rover, Range Rover Sport & Discovery 4 Well as usual it’s all happening in the last part of the year. Demand continues to be strong and therefore I strongly recommend you talk to us as early as possible if you are considering replacing your vehicle, demand is very strong given the smaller number of vehicles there are available and we are unlikely to have enough stock to meet the demand, especially if the weather turns nasty, so please don’t leave things too late! Land Rover & Range Rover sales continue unabated around the globe and fortunately that seems unstoppable presently with demand often outstripping supply. Retail Sales in the UK were up 30% in September and the UK continued to be the leading market but sales were up around the world with increases of 55% in Brazil, 92% in China and 155% in India - amazing results considering the economic climate, albeit the media seem to continue to report on bad news even when great news like this is available. More and more vehicles are being ordered to our customers own specifications because availability is so tight, so please look at your options earlier than ever before if you are considering changing your car; even if that’s as far as way as March 2012 it is worth talking to us now! Land Rover’s strong retail offers have continued into Quarter 4 and we continue to take advance orders on the amazing new Range Rover Evoque. The first cars are now with their delighted customers and I have now done over 3,000 miles in my own Range Rover Evoque which is superb. Nevertheless, the product news doesn’t end there; we now have the new 12 Model Year Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4 available to test drive. Whilst there are too many features to list here it is remarkable how the product continues to go from strength to strength and the new Eight Speed Gearbox’s needs to be driven to be fully appreciated. Overall, it’s been another challenging but rewarding year for the team at Hillendale. Our new showroom has received critical acclaim, the vehicles continue to amaze, your customer satisfaction scores position us as one of the best dealers in the UK, which we appreciate as we really do try our best to delight you when you visit us, & we came 4th in the Dealer of the Year programme, a good result but we can still do better!! And of course we are now delighted to be welcoming Jaguar Cars into the business now. We have spent several £0000’s with local people and charities not least with our friends at Young Carers who do an amazing job locally with young children who have a dependant adult at home and more recently we were able to help Rochdale Dog Rescue save seven dogs from being destroyed and we had a visit by the Barlick Barons who were proudly showing off their new Hillendale Sponsored kit (picture can be seen on page 10), just remember us lads when you’re in the Premier League! MEET THE TEAM TASLEEM AHMED & LEE BURNS TASLEEM JOINED THE HILLENDALE GROUP THROUGH OUR MARKETING COMPANY IMAGE RED IN JULY 2010 WHEN SHE WAS APPOINTED AS THEIR SALES ADMINISTRATOR. She soon settled into the role and made her presence felt across the company – in a good way of course! Her bubbly personality and friendly approach really helped her to progress her career and she was offered the opportunity to join the Hillendale Land Rover sales team as a Sales Specialist in July this year. You could say that this job was made for Tasleem. She has a real interest in meeting new people, enjoys interacting with our customers but her favourite

part of the job is watching her customers drive away in their new car with a smile on their face. Outside of work, Tasleem is passionate about fashion and her family, enjoys a very busy social life and can always be relied upon to recommend a good restaurant! Before going to college he used to play for the Lancashire regional team and his younger brother is now following in his football steps playing in the under 12’s BTR Leyland football team which Lee coaches. Lee’s personal goal is to become a Managing Director one day and he is prepared to put in the hard work and time required to get there. We all wish him well in pursuit of his dreams.

WATCH OUT ORANG-UTAN ABOUT! OUR ADVENTUROUS MASCOT ORANG’EY HAS JUST RETURNED FROM A 2,000+ MILE TREK AROUND MAINLAND BRITAIN HELPING TO PROMOTE THIS YEAR’S CONVOY FOR HEROES. Orang’ey travelled in an eye catching 30 foot rig consisting of a pale gold Land Rover Discovery towing the CONVOY FOR HEROES promotional trailer. Departing from Littlehampton in West Sussex he travelled to the four cardinal points on mainland Britain: Lizard Point, Land’s End, John O’Groats and Great Yarmouth, West Sussex and then home to Hillendale in Nelson. CONVOY FOR HEROES adopted our mascot Orang’ey last year as he led 350 Land Rovers round the Jaguar Land Rover test track on Easter Sunday 2011, helping to raise in excess of £15,000 for Help for Heroes. CONVOY FOR HEROES is organised annually on a voluntary basis by a team of dedicated Land Rover enthusiasts to support Help for Heroes. It takes the form of a two day event, with attractions for all the family, culminating in an attempt on the Guinness World Record ™ for the longest Land Rover convoy. MEET THE CUSTOMER MR AND MRS GARY SMITH ON THURSDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2011 WE WERE DELIGHTED TO DELIVER OUR FIRST RANGE ROVER EVOQUE. Mr Gary Smith and his wife Pauline have been Hillendale customers since their first purchase of a Defender 90 XS Station Wagon in 2007. Since then they have purchased another Defender and a Range Rover Autobiography from Hillendale. When Land Rover announced they were launching a new addition to the Range Rover family, Mr and Mrs Smith knew where to place their trust. Casino Night!

As part of the Hillendale Group’s commitment to raise £1000 for MacMillan Cancer Support during 2011, Ladies Without Limits held a fantastic Casino Night in our showroom at the end of August. More than 50 ladies showed their support – and poker faces – as they helped to raise an incredible £500 on the night which took us well over our annual target. The Blackjack and roulette tables were busy all evening but the poker table had people queuing for a seat and the chance to learn how to play in a relaxed, no risk atmosphere. One lady won an amazing £60,000’s worth of chips over the evening, what a shame they weren’t real! Everyone had a great evening filled with fun and laughter, all in aid of a fantastic charity. The SDV6 3.0 engine benefits from a 255bhp output and with the new 8-speed transmission the CO2 emissions for this engine are reduced to 230g/km. The tailgate design changes with 12 Model Year to a single-piece design to allow for the introduction of a Power Tailgate. YOUNG CARERS TRIP’S AND ACTIVITIES We are delighted to continue to support The Young Carer’s as they provide their members with a welcome break from their caring role’s. With our help; 9 events were held over the summer months including trips to Blackpool Tower, The Trafford Centre, Camelot and Welly Bob’s Farm. The summer started with a very healthy activity as 20 Young Carers took part in 2 hours of sports activities with an instructor at Burnley Boys club. They all worked really well in their teams playing Kwik cricket, football, basketball, rounders and taking part in relay races. From the 1st October, there have been some changes to the Young Carers Project due to changes in national funding. Barnardos will now be supporting Young Carers across Lancashire where they are caring for someone with a physical or learning disability. The Young Carers Project will continue to support Young Carers in Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale who are caring for someone with a mental health or substance misuse problem.

ROCHDALE DOG RESCUE

Barlick Barons collected their new Hillendale Sponsored Kit. Great news for the Barlick Barons Under 8 Red Team as Hillendale Land Rover kindly agreed to sponsor their new football kit.

In the last edition of Trailblazer we introduced you to the Rochdale Dog Rescue team, a local charity that we have been helping and who currently have 12 dogs in emergency kennels, 1 dog in an emergency foster home and 1 dog in the stray kennels.

This is the youngsters third year playing together and they continue to improve year on year. The youngsters, their parents and team manager, Tony Moore, recently visited our dealership where they were presented with the new kit and were then thrilled by a trip along the sites off road track in a Discovery 4. The families had the opportunity to look around the vehicles whilst the children were pictured with the new Range Rover Evoque. On the debut of their new kit, at their first game of the season one of the youngsters commented “If we win all our games this season do you think we’ll get a Range Rover”! We love the positive thinking. Good Luck with the season Barons.

From September 2010 to August 2011 Rochdale Dog Rescue have funded emergency accommodation and vets bills for numerous dogs totalling an amazing £16,872 and in doing so have saved countless dogs from being put to sleep needlessly. The current economic situation is having a double effect on Rochdale Dog Rescue as more dogs are being abandoned and less people are able to offer financial support. One of the dogs currently looking for her “forever home” is Elsie, a Staffie Cross aged between 2 and 4 years. The Rochdale Dog Rescue team describe Elsie as “a very sweet, pretty little girl who sits for a treat and gives lovely gentle kisses. She has a fun, playful side too and just wants to be loved”.
