INTRODUCTION TO HILLENDALE A new name; a new beginning for Jaguar in Bolton Welcome to Hillendale Insight, our new quarterly customer newsletter. Following on from our success at Hillendale Land Rover and our Jaguar Service Centre at our dealership in Nelson, Lancashire we are delighted to have now been appointed as the official Jaguar representative for Bolton and the surrounding area. As we venture into a period of substantial change and growth here at Jaguar Bolton, the recent acquisition by Hillendale Group is a time of excitement and opportunity as we look to introduce our successful working practices to improve customer service in the coming weeks and months. As a privately owned and managed group of companies we are proud of our strong family values having represented Land Rover in the East Lancashire area for over 15 years. Our focus on providing only the very best customer care has allowed us to build a first class reputation and we are delighted now to be able to offer the same high standards to every potential Jaguar customer. THE GREAT OUTDOORS FAMILY FUN DAY Sunday 9th June saw Hillendale Land Rover play host to over 300 of our valued customers, friends and family at our Family Fun Day. In a bid to allow customers to experience the ‘Great Outdoors’ we were joined by Land Rover Experience who provided 4 x 4 and off-road demonstrations and with the highly acclaimed Airstream & Company products on display there were also static and active trailer demonstrations on the day. Also on the day we had Local Food Producers from the Clitheroe Food Festival, Gundog Training displays, a Climbing Wall and Bungee Trampoline as well as face painting and balloon modelling for the little ones on site. We were also joined by local Premium brands including Scruples of Barrowford, Crowood Leisure & Dickinson’s Bang & Olufsen; all of whom had stands in the showroom on the day. With a Spit Roast and an assortment of

food for everyone’s enjoyment it really was a fun filled day with a little to cater to everyone’s interests and hobbies. With the sun out and the ice creams in full flow, guests including Bank of Dave star David Fishwick and Local MP Andrew Stephenson also joined us for the day, even getting involved with our Defender Testimonials competition which involved telling us what made Hillendale ‘Different’ by writing on our vehicle wrapped in green vinyl. It was a great turnout and a fantastic event for the dealership and we even managed to raise a fantastic £282.62 in aid of Rochdale Dog Rescue who were also present on the day providing refreshments on behalf of Hillendale for small donations with all proceeds to their worthy cause – We hope you were able to join us and enjoy everything that was on offer on the day.

TIME FOR A CUPPA Friday 1st March saw the staff and friends of Hillendale & Image Red join forces once again to raise money for Dementia UK. Taking part in the national Time for a Cuppa initiative staff baked – or bought - cakes, biscuits and scones that were then offered to our customers and visitors in exchange for a donation in aid of this worthy cause. Thanks to the generosity of everyone concerned we raised £151.51 for this fantastic charity. A special thank you to our local MP Andrew Stephenson for his support.

OUTDOOR FUN WITH THE MCMILLAN NURSERY Hillendale Land Rover are thrilled to be supporting McMillan Nursery School with their outdoor based learning at the Whitehough Outdoor Centre. Thanks to Hillendale 10 groups of 12 youngsters, aged between 3 and 4 years, will be taking the short trip from their central Nelson school to the activity centre, nestled at the foot of Pendle Hill. Tracey Taylforth, from Hillendale, was lucky enough to take the trip with the first group earlier this month, where she saw first-hand how beneficial it was for the children. Wrapping up warm and donning their shiny new wellingtons the children were encouraged to use all their senses in this new learning environment. With fun learning activities based around shapes, colours, sizes and sound the children particularly enjoyed their walk through the woods covering each other with leaves and squelching through mud!

The final activity of the day was a bear hunt which took place in a converted barn. The youngsters wore hard hats fitted with lamps and cautiously entered the labyrinth of dark narrow tunnels in search of the teddy bear. Triumphant in their challenge the day was really one you could say was out of the ordinary!

RED NOSE DAY SOMETHING FUNNY FOR MONEY As ever, the team at Hillendale were more than ready to take on the Comic Relief challenge this year to do ‘Something Funny for Money’. As part of our fundraising fortnight, the staff all took part in various activities including a ‘Great British Bake Sale’ with various homemade (and the odd shop bought) cakes and treats for sale in the showroom. There was also a sweep stake to guess which wig Jessie J would like once she shaved her head for Comic Relief as well as having a Range Rover Sport in the showroom filled to the brim with red balloons – with a competition to guess how many balloons it had taken to fill it. Staff also took part in a ‘Dress Down’ day by wearing an item of

red clothing or an official Red Nose Day t-shirt for a donation of £2. (Even Orangey, the Hillendale mascot joined in with his very own Red Nose Day t-shirt). The team effort was finished with members taking part in Hillendale’s very own ‘Harlem Shake’ – All in fancy dress. The video is still available at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeBbaQA7pko. YOUNG CARERS AT THE PANTO A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER! With the support of our friends at local coach company Moving People, and courtesy of Hillendale Land Rover, 48 Young Carers from Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale took an early Christmas trip to Manchester to see Peter Pan at The Opera House. En route to Manchester the youngsters stopped off at Pizza Hut where we provided pizza’s and pasta before the performance, as well as Christmas gifts for everyone kindly donated by Moving People. We sincerely hope this has been a Christmas to remember for these great young people.
