WELCOME TO TRAILBLAZER FROM HILLENDALE Dear Valued Customer, Well Q2 has seen us extremely busy and not just with the day to day operation of Hillendale. I am pleased to inform you that we completed the purchase of Jaguar in Bolton in July and are looking forward to representing Jaguar throughout Lancashire. If you wish to arrange a test-drive in a Jaguar and Nelson is more convenient for you, we would of course be delighted to arrange that. Q2 saw 97 new cars go to their excited new owners and with a further 75 pre-owned ones it gave us a total sales volume to the end of June of 387 vehicles, so on behalf of the team here please accept our sincere thanks for your continued support. The all-new Range Rover Sport is now in our Showroom and yet again Land Rover have proved themselves to be truly world class in their ability to design and build some of the world’s finest vehicles. The car is sublime, if you are interested please call us or pop in to arrange a Test Drive. We continue to support as many local charities as we can and some of the work we do can be found further on in Trailblazer along with details of what our team have been up to and of course info on the occasional customer! The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day Sunday 9th June saw Hillendale play host to over 300 of our valued customers, friends and family at our Family Fun Day. In a bid to allow customers to experience the ‘Great Outdoors’ we were joined by Land Rover Experience who provided 4 x 4 and off-road demonstrations, and with the highly acclaimed Airstream & Company products on display there were also static and active trailer demonstrations. With local food producers from the Clitheroe Food Festival, Gundog Training displays, a Climbing Wall and a Bungee Trampoline as well as face painting and balloon modelling for the little ones on site, we were also joined by local premium brands including Scruples of Barrowford, Crow Wood Leisure & Dickinson’s Bang & Olufsen; all of whom had stands in the showroom on the day. With a Spit Roast and an assortment of food for everyone’s enjoyment it really was a fun filled day with a little to cater to everyone’s interests and hobbies. With the sun out and the ice creams in full flow, guests including Bank of Dave star David Fishwick and Local MP Andrew Stephenson were more than happy to get involved with our Defender testimonials competition which involved telling us ‘What Makes Hillendale Different’ by writing on our vehicle wrapped in green vinyl.

MEET THE TEAM Debbie Prowse A familiar face around the dealership, Debbie is our Senior Sales Administrator and a vital part of our Sales Team. With over 6 years of previous experience within the automotive trade at Vantage Vauxhall and now approaching her 13th year at Hillendale, needless to say Debbie has cemented her place within the team. Utilising her vast knowledge and experience of the role Debbie has been able to adapt to the various changes within Land Rover over the years and plays an important role in our day to day sales operations from stock control to handover. Debbie’s attention to detail is second to none with key responsibilities including the processing of all vehicle sales and the significant task of ordering all new vehicles. With a love of the outdoors, Debbie and husband of 24 years Nigel are keen travellers enjoying various holidays throughout the year and have only just returned from a two week trip to the Greek Islands. Also as keen motorbike enthusiasts they enjoy long bike rides in the country on their weekends off travelling to wherever the bike and the weather takes them as well as spending time with family. Debbie likens the team spirit at Hillendale to that of a family and couldn’t see herself anywhere else. As one of our long standing staff members, we look forward to working alongside you for years to come.

From South Africa to Swaziland, Mozambique to Lesotho and a planned trip to Timbuktu: Meet Mr David Coonan and his trusted Defender 110 Station Wagon. A vehicle telematics expert in the road transport industry, Mr Coonan purchased his Defender as an ex-demonstration vehicle in 1998. Since then it has travelled over 635,000km through all terrains in Southern Africa, journeyed as far as Vilanculos in Mozambique and up the famous Sani Pass into Lesotho, the Defender has tackled some of the world’s most difficult terrains including up to a height of 3000ft at the South African Border Post. With the event having won recognition and praise as a top ten UK food festival, it continues to showcase only Lancashire and the Ribble Valley’s finest in food and drink production and this year’s festival on the 10th of August is set to be bigger and better than ever. The Land Rover brand itself has always had very strong links with the rural and agricultural communities and so what better way to show our support than champion all that is great about our local Food Producers. At a recent dealership event we invited along various food producers who will also be displaying at the festival and it was great to see the interest that Lancashire & the Ribble Valley generates in terms of its local food production.
