Your session is custom tailored to your wants and needs‐‐you are not standing in a line at the mall.
We are able to offer basic “photo needs” such as 8x10s and wallets for Grandma, as well as keepsake, high‐end family wall art and products to decorate and embellish your home.
Each and every image is produced by nationally ranked, top photo finishing professionals and labs—no images are being printed on “at‐home” printers or at the local photo shop.
Every item is custom produced to assure color correction, accurate density profiling and to provide whatever artwork or finishing techniques we decide best fits the presentation of your images.
All Wall Portraits are hand‐edited and custom printed for pleasing flesh tones.
All custom prints may be adjusted to compensate for or include artwork, contrast, burning/ dodging, reduction of hotspots, cropping, sizing, sharpening and borders as desired.
Color images may be converted to Black and White or Sepia.
Slight or extensive Colorizing can be done in all sizes on Black and White or Sepia prints. Quotes for colorizing are available upon request.
Custom prints are mounted and include an UV protective coating.
What if I like LOTS of my images? How can I display them? We have fabulous Photo Books, Albums and Art Boxes (which hold proofs or prints) which are custom designed and printed. Everything is fresh and fun! We also offer savings on groupings such as Portrait Collections and Gallery Wrap Canvas Clusters – the costs for these items are often more than 20% off individual A la Carte prices! New digital packages are available. The options are endless.
How can I save money with my portrait order? Be sure to check out the ordering incentives listed on our pricelist!
What types of Portrait Retouching and Artwork is available? All retouching is at the discretion of Images by Dana. Basic edits are included in your print price. Client directed artwork incurs an additional charge per image, not per print. Ask to see a full list of retouch and artwork options.
What are Black & White, Sepia, Metallic Paper, Sloppy Borders?
All images can be printed in Black and White, Sepia, or Brown Tone and many may have a “sloppy border” added for a modern artistic effect. Sometimes a Sloppy Border cuts into the picture. Ask to see a sample crop before ordering.
Printing on metallic paper adds brilliance and impact to the colors and depth of any image. This product is very popular for high school seniors, but also makes wedding dresses shimmer and sports images come to life. This paper can also add an exciting effect to B&W images.
These options are available at no additional charge.
Do you offer irregular or unlisted sizes? Yes, prints and frames are available in a variety of sizes. Images by Dana offers custom sized portraiture for the client who has specific space constraints. Prices are the next highest standard size.
What is a work print? A Work Print is a “rough‐draft.” It is highly recommended if extensive artwork is being done to a print. The work print becomes a tool for Images by Dana and is returned to the lab for ordering. Copies of work prints are not released to the client. Cost‐‐$15 each.
Where should I hang my portrait? Your artwork is unique for your family and a high‐end custom product—it should be placed in a focal area in your home: for example, over a sofa, console table or buffet. It is suggested that the portrait be hung on a wall which is faced when a visitor enters the room. Prints should never be hung in direct sunlight or high heat areas.
Do you offer framing? Custom framing with Images by Dana is always an option; however, there is no pressure to do your framing in‐house. Frame costs are available upon request.
Do you have corner samples for frames? Are frames all the same price? We have corner samples, a frame catalogue and an online viewing system which allows you to “see” lots of frame options for your images. If you would like to explore this option, please ask to see frame and mat samples. Frames are priced individually.
Do frames include glass? Typically, Wall Portraits and StoryBoards are not covered with a glass overlay as they are works of art which have been lacquer sprayed for physical and ultraviolet protection, but glass is always available in clear or non‐glare if desired. Glass is a necessity if any mats are used (ex. Mini Gallery Portrait Collections) and for Image Sheets.
How are Mini‐Gallery Portrait Collections framed? Mini‐Gallery Portraits are always framed with glass because they incorporate mats. There are dozens of Mini‐Gallery frame and mat options available for selection, as well as custom cut mats to fit any specific needs. All Mini‐Galleries will be assembled, framed, paper‐backed and will include hanging hardware – your portrait will be ready for hanging when you pick it up!
Can you come to my home and help me figure out where to best hang my portrait and what size I should choose? On site consulting to determine size, color, and framing options is available at the rate of $45 per hour with a one hour minimum.
Do you deliver? Images by Dana does not deliver final products unless prior arrangements have been made. The Delivery Charge for finished products within a 30 mile radius is $45. Items may be shipped to the client’s address; standard shipping rates apply.
How do I qualify for discounts on my next session?
Images by Dana is pleased to offer a 20% discount toward the second session fee when more than one session is booked within the same year. If two of your friends use their 50% off REFERRAL CARD then you ALSO get 50% off on your next session!
How long do you keep my image files?
Design Sessions must take place within the 2 week period after your images are posted. At the end of the 2 week period, images used for orders will be archived for one year. Unused images will be deleted. Due to space limitations, all files may be purged from our system after one year.
