Gaining the edge Monthly iMag’s from your Website Big Birthday Bash New websites and upgrades to old websites. Local businesses are now competing in a global marketplace and now more than ever they must have a superior online website presence. It is not enough to simply have a website; it requires so much more than that. What the team at RCS Websites does is speak one on one with the business owner. We then take those requirements and convert then into a website that is appealing to the eye and can be found on the major search engines. Right at this very moment there are potential customers on the search engines looking for what your business has to sell, and without ranking prominently on the big search engines you are missing out on opportunity for a sale or a quote. RCS Websites have taken things a step further by also including social networking with Facebook integration. Facebook is a major force on the Internet and every business needs to have a piece of that opportunity in order to maintain a competitive edge. This is achieved by engaging consumers online. Companies who make the decision to work with RCS Websites can expect impressive results at a very affordable rate. We've built our business on providing “Simple yet cost effective Internet marketing solutions” that always produce results for our clients and the countless testimonials we've amassed over the years will attest to that fact. Fernbank Farm Fernbank Farm is a wonderful heritage property at Wyong Creek and has recently become available as a Farm Stay and boutique wedding venue. Built in 1904, Fernbank has been lovingly restored and has 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Over the course of her 25 year ownership, Meg Gossert has tried to reinstate all of the original materials of the building. So much so, the home is considered one of the Central Coast's most treasured heritage assets. The property is set on 25 acres, 8 of which are beautiful gardens. The garden features a gorgeous rotunda by the lake, a lovely Somesby pebble area and hand-made iron gates to lead you along the hedged dam bank. Home of Central Coast Carriages and beautiful Santosa Clydesdale Stud, guests can enjoy a ride in the newly imported Landau Carriage. www.fernbankfarmstay.com David is represented in many public galleries, corporate and private collections. In my opinion this will be an exhibition that you should not miss!! David’s exhibition will open on 1st June 6 - 8pm and will run for 2 weeks. 11 Alison Road WyongNSW 2259 0400 345 291 danielle.morrison@hotmail.com

The Central Coast Conservatorium Marine Rescue Annual Boat Raffle Winter is traditionally the ‘quiet’ time for recreational boating, so you would think it could be assumed that the volunteers from Marine Rescue Central Coast would also enjoy a break from their constant vigilance of the marine radio and their on-water rescue responsibilities. In fact, the winter period actually becomes busier because in addition to the ongoing radio and on-water duties the Central Coast volunteers use wintertime as their principal fundraising time. Commencing in June, the ‘boys (and girls) in blue’ will be seeking public support for their Annual Boat Raffle, their main fundraising activity that helps ensure that this life-saving volunteer organisation remains viable in the coming year. The prize this year is a 3.59m Stacer Proline hull designed for rivers, estuaries, creeks, dams and lakes, fitted with a 5HP Vortex outboard motor, lifejackets and other safety gear all on a registered genuine Stacer boat trailer. Tickets are only $2, and will be on sale from June. So when you see the Marine Rescue volunteers in your local shopping centre buy a ticket or two to help such a worthy group, it won’t break the bank and you may be the lucky winner.

New Board Moves Forward With Vision For The Central Coast Conservatorium. The new management committee will continue with the vision and music programs implemented by its former director Chris Bearman. The newly formed board of management, elected recently at the Annual General Meeting, expressed their appreciation for the direction and initiatives that Chris implemented during his tenure with the Conservatorium. The music programs will remain a core capability for ongoing expansion by the new board. The Central Coast Conservatorium is looking forward to its association with Chris as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Central Coast Symphony Orchestra and the Concertante Ensemble. Information on the Conservatorium’s 2012 Concert Series is available at www.centralcoastconservatorium. com.au or the events brochure can be requested from the administration office on 02 4324-7477.

Toowoon Bay Gallery Toowoon Bay Gallery is again a myriad of colour as new paintings, glass and fresh stocks have now arrived. Velia Newman's new works are stunning; their thick relief being dramatically emphasized by their box framing. Bold brilliant and lyrical these acrylic works are all of that and well worth seeing. Greg Jarmaine has just completed more local beach scenes, as has Chris Gorman. And more Norman Lindsay etchings have arrived. These have been issued in limited editions of 550 and come with certificates of authenticity. We have added to our range of handmade glass and again the pieces have been chosen for their bold colours and sculptural impact. A new line, glass jewellery, has been introduced. Hand made dichroic glass has been used in the pendants and the colours are enhanced with movement and change of light. Reasonably priced, they make lovely gifts and already clients have been buying for Christmas! If it's nostalgia you are looking for our range of trendy money boxes and photo frames is delightful. Modelled on the VWs and Combi-vans of the 60s and 70s they are very appealing. Normal hours are 10-4.30 Wed to Sun inclusive. In school holidays we are open every day and yes, you can park at the door. 179 Bay Road Toowoon Bay Phone 4332 6023

This historic icon has charmed and delighted young and old at The Entrance since 1930. It has seen a number of owners since its arrival in Australia from France in the early 1900s and is now part of the National Trust classified Haas Family carnival, a family that has 400 years of carnival ancestry. The carousel, which was built in the late 1800s in Germany, was originally ‘powered’ by a pony but was converted to steam at the turn of the century. It remained steam driven until the 1950s when an old chev. engine was installed, and was converted to electricity in the 1970s. Its reed pipe organ, operated by bellows, remained in commission until 1950. Music is now supplied by tape, although the organ front has been restored. The carousel has pride of place on The Entrance waterfront where it is visited by not only today’s children, but by the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents of those children.

The Little Frog (with the big heart) 66 Pacific Highway, Wyong.

When my friends said they were taking me to a Restaurant that had big fat German sausages such as I have been mouth-watering for and this was served with sauerkraut and Bratkartoffeln, I didn’t get too excited as I have been disappointed so many times before. You can’t imagine my surprise when this was the genuine thing, real German sausages. If you are a lover of German food I can recommend that you will be satisfied when you visit the Austrian Schnitzelhaus because they specialise in the real meal. Next time I had to have the roasted Pork Knuckle, be very hungry when you order this as it is HUGE and very, very good. There is nothing better on a cold winters night than a hot Gluehwein or 2. So please turn to page 2 and see the latest Winter special to tempt your taste buds and priced at a very affordable $29.90 now you pay more than that for most mains and still leave hungry. Not here bring your appetite with you and join us for some ooompapa. The Hive, Erina Fair 02 4367 4874 www.austrianschnitzelhaus.com.au

Austrian Schnitzelhaus

I love to find new dining experiences that are so special I have to tell everyone. The Little Frog in Wyong is one of those. The restaurant is opposite the railway station for those of us (retirees) lucky enough to enjoy railway adventures. Lunch Special - it sure is. We could choose from the main menu, dearest main course $19.00 or the lunchtime special - who could resist - 2 courses for $15 or 3 courses for $18. Our friends had mains - Emma had the vegetarian platter, Klara the Steak Dianne with creamy mushroom sauce which she declared she could have chewed without teeth it was so tender. My husband and I had the 3 course special. My tomato and fennel soup was delicious, followed by Steak with pomme frites and green salad and gelato (3 flavours), my husband had French Onion Soup, Chicken with red wine jus, pomme frites, green salad and Crepes Suzette for sweets. All our meals were delicious. The specials were small, succulent and with 3 courses made a large meal. For small appetites 2 course special would be plenty and we are already planning our next visit. Maybe for the new Sunday buffet breakfast in June? I'm not sure I can wait that long. Dinner at night - A la carte menu. This is a truly special restaurant, the chef is planning all sorts of special events (see p.11 Imag) . There is a midweek dinner special coming up as well. Check www.thelittlefrog.com.au and don't miss out. Carolyn Sinclair – Chef/Owner (retired) Old Courthouse Restaurant, Minmi.

Seacoast Fishing What's happening this month... Our commercial fishing business has been operating from Kincumber for the past 8 years and we have the freshest fish in town. Straight from the boat to our shop, which is located 400mtrs from the scenic road roundabout towards Macmasters Beach. Our catch consists of Snapper, Ocean Jackets, Bream trevally, mullet (which is the catch of the month!) and Lobsters. We also have local Oysters, school prawns and a variety of frozen products. As our weather cools and the westly winds start, mullet season begins for us April and May, this happens each year when the mullet schools up in big patches coming out of our estuaries and they travel to the sea, this is where our licensed boys use the hauling nets to catch some, most of the mullet schools head straight out to sea, but some travel along the coastline for a while, these are the fish the boys try to catch. Mullet has the best omega 3 oil content, which is so good for us, flavour is strong, but a great fish to eat (our favourite). Fresh is Best! Open Thursday & Friday 12.30 to 6pm and Saturday 9 to 6pm. Please call for updated catch info 43686160 Patanga Street, Kincumber
