June Welcome to the Central Coast in June! You know winter is here when you can stand somewhere high, look out to Sea and watch the Whales as they, splash, and play or majestically glide past. We are very lucky on the Coast as we can see this beautiful excursion free of charge, contact CC Tourism and they can assist you with the best vantage points. I have been out Whale watching 3 times and it is something you will not forget. Norah Head lighthouse usually has something on so contact them as that is a great place to go Whale watching, it’s a great place to go full stop. I went to Wollombi to the Cedar Creek Cellar Door as I am very partial to their Wines. All their yummy products are chemical free. I went to Yarramalong first then called in to Something Anything at Kulnura and onto Wollombi, what a wonderful excursion this is it took only 1hour from Tuggerah. It is the most beautiful drive and so many interesting places to call into on your way, when you get there you must visit Judith or Jim at the Wollombi Wool Store. Go to page 31 and read all about what they do, sign up for their classes. You can stitch & bitch with
Contents a wonderful crowd and make new friends that have the same interests as you do. Wyong has a new shoe shop in The Village Centre, John Shoes. At last we can go and buy good shoes at very reasonable prices for the whole family see p15 for more information on them and this month’s specials from Karma Spa. I love going here for my weekly treatment. They now have clients coming from all over the Coast as they are just a short walk from the Station. If you are looking for something to entertain the whole family may I suggest you go to Mini Golf at Mingara, this is the BIGGEST of it’s kind in NSW and one of the best. Whatever you decide to do or wherever you go, there is something for you in iMag,take it with you as you set out to have a great day. Please don’t forget to let our advertisers know where you found them. Enjoy your month in good health. Till next time, have FUN.

Explore the rich culture and talent on the Coast! The annual 5 Lands Walk brings the Central Coast to life in June, with five coastal villages sharing vibrant art, culture and community spirit along a 10km walking route. Starting at MacMasters Beach and culminating at Terrigal Beach, walkers have the opportunity to complete the full length of the walk, or just the sections that capture their interest. Registrations begin at 7.00am at MacMasters Beach with the first 550 walkers taking dibs on free bacon and egg rolls. The official start of the walk follows the ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony with walkers escorted down the beach following the sounds of the bagpipe player heading to Copacabana at 9am. En route to Terrigal enjoy the entertainment and food at each of the lands hosted by the Chinese, Latino, Irish, African and Filipino communities. The walking route covers a variety of terrains including beach, paths through bushland, roadways and roadside footpaths. You won’t need your wallet to participate in any of the events of the 5 Lands Walk, and this includes shuttle buses transfers. However, you may wish to purchase refreshments from cafes and shops along the way. The June long weekend is a showcase of rich talent at Pearl Beach as the yearly Classical Music Festival visits the local Memorial Hall.
This series of four exciting concerts will feature Simon Tedeschi & Kevin Hunt, The Gregoryan Brothers, Sydney Omega Ensemble, and cellist David Pereira with pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska.

Marine Rescue NSW Go Cruising on Brisbane Water One of the joys of owning a cruising boat is being able to spend time aboard exploring new areas of the extensive NSW coastal waterways. A little known attraction for those who plan to visit beautiful Brisbane Water by boat is that you can stay right in the heart of Gosford close to the CBD. Gosford Council has developed the Gosford Visitors Wharf in the Gosford Boat Harbour, at the northern end of Brisbane Water. The Visitor Wharf has sixteen marina style berths available; most have water and electricity available. Cost is a modest $20.00 per night. Stay for a weekend or a week. The Visitor Wharf is within easy walking distance of Gosford Sailing Club, Gosford RSL Club, Blue Tongue Stadium, many hotels, cafes and several fine restaurants in and around the CBD. Marine Rescue Central Coast supervises the wharf for the Council. Reservations for a berth can be made by phone (4325 7929), by marine radio or online at www.vmrcc.org.au. Marine Rescue Central Coast’s website also has a wealth of information about Brisbane Water and many local Central Coast attractions. Pass this information on to your boat owner friends, they will be appreciative.

Chavez Chiropractic Arizona based medical device manufacturer Neuromechanical Innovations (NMI) announces that Dr. Jorge Chavez has recently incorporated computerized chiropractic adjusting technology at their facility, Chavez Chiropractic in Erina, NSW using the patented Impulse iQ Adjusting Instrument®. The instrument is called “iQ” because it is intelligent – monitoring spinal motion in realtime during each treatment. The Impulse iQ’s internal motion sensor communicates with a micro-chip computer to regulate the treatment creating more efficient treatments that are comfortable and just the right dosage.

Seacoast Fishing The freshest seafood on the Coast... Our commercial fishing business has been operating from Kincumber for the past 8 years and we have the freshest fish in town, straight from the boat to our shop, which is located 400mtrs from the scenic road roundabout towards Macmasters Beach. Our catch consists of Snapper, Ocean Jackets, Bream trevally, mullet (which is the catch of the month!) and Lobsters. We also have local Oysters, school prawns and a variety of frozen products. As our weather cools and the westly winds start, mullet season begins for us April and May, this happens each year when the mullet schools up in big patches coming out of our estuaries and they travel to the sea, this is where our licensed boys use the hauling nets to catch some, most of the mullet schools head straight out to sea, but some travel along the coastline for a while, these are the fish the boys try to catch. Mullet has the best omega 3 oil content, which is so good for us, flavour is strong, but a great fish to eat (our favourite). Fresh is Best! We are open thurs, fridays 11am to 6pm and saturday 9am to 6pm. More info on: 43686160 Patanga Street, Kincumber

As the main ingredient, premium Belgian couverture is used. In keeping with current European trends, part of the range is based on single origin couvertures. Rather than being couvertures blended from a variety of beans sourced from different areas, these couvertures use beans sourced from unique, single regions only, bringing out their varietal characteristics. One in five Australian women are unhappy with their current work-life balance situation. If this is you, here are five ways to turn that around. New research shows that nearly fifty per cent of working women struggle to balance the demands of work and family life, according to results from the Community and Public Sector Union's annual What Women Want survey. Of the 9,000 participants, the majority aged between 25-54 years, 20 per cent, admitted they were unhappy with their current work-life balance. With more work comes less time to exercise too. The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that women who work from 16-34 hours per week were more likely to adopt a sedentary lifestyle than those who worked less hours.

Here are a few ways to maintain balance for your own health and happiness. 1. Make an exercise plan – Making time to exercise is crucial to balance a busy mind. 2. Plan meals ahead – Prepare a weekly plan of recipes that you can turn around quickly on a week night.

3. Remember your passions – it's important to keep your goals in sight. 4. Time for the family – When you arrive home, instead of rushing to get dinner ready, take some time to check in with your family. 5. Make time for you – It is difficult to be a good support to your family if you're not scheduling in your own downtime.

Feature Artist at the Gallery for June – Brian Stringer Brian has been creating beautiful pieces of woodwork on a little lathe in his little shed for several years. From a lump of timber or a burl he notes the pattern in the wood, creates a design in his head or on paper then sets to work. Often that design changes as the wood decides which direction Brian will take next with his chisel. On Tuesday June 11th to Saturday June 15th Brian will be a guest exhibitor with the North Shore Craft Group. This group is holding an Exhibition which brings together craft workers who have attained a high degree of profficiency in their particular field. The exhibition will be at the Ku-Ring-Gai Town Hall.

When the MCO made its debut at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 2008 Le Monde called it “the best orchestra in the world.” The MCO is a travelling orchestra with 45 core members from 20 different countries including one Australian, Kirsty Hilton. The MCO is on the move for approximately 200 days each year and in 2012/13 will perform in 13 countries with performances in major musical centres as well as exclusive festivals. The MCO has been recognised as an official European Cultural Ambassador for the years 2011 to 2013.

The ensemble's flexible structure makes it possible for them to perform a very wide range of repertoire, including everything from chamber music to large symphonies and operas, from baroque to world premieres of contemporary works.

The show brilliantly creates a world of wonderment and fantasy that transports the audience to a joyous dream-like place, where a bed becomes a boat in a storm-tossed sea; a woman is wrapped in cellophane and becomes flowers in a vase; a child walks in amazement inside a bubble; SLAVA boards a train and then becomes the train, his chimney-pot hat billowing smoke; and a web of unspun cotton envelopes the audience. The Italian Restaurant Azzuro Blu Wharf, 12 the Entrance Road, The Entrance. Phone 43338885. With sheltered verandah seating on the waterfront and the April sun warming us, this restaurant was our chosen venue for a relaxed lunch to celebrate a birthday. It is a great favourite with our friends Klara (Imag owner) and Emma, her Cousin. We jumped at the chance of visiting again as we have been delighted with the food each time we visit. We started with a platter of delicious Kilpatrick Sydney Rock Oysters with lots of finely chopped bacon. I spoilt myself with a Prawn Cocktail as a simple entree is a delight when anticipating a strong main course. Plenty of prawns and a tasty sauce was exactly what I wanted and got. I ordered the 250 gram Black Angus resting on buttered chat potatoes and broccolini topped with slow roasted tomato and red wine glaze. The meat was beautifully cooked to order (Med.-Rare) and tender enough to melt in my mouth. I savoured every mouthful, and, as a measure of a good meal, I enjoyed the last mouthful as much as the first. Yum. Klara had the Scampi and thoroughly enjoyed it. This was the lightest of the meals and would suit smaller appetites. This allowed Klara to share Ian's ribs. Ian had the pork ribs with a special Tennessee Sauce. There were plenty of them (enough to share with all). They were tender and delicious so much lip-smacking and finger licking went on. Emma enjoys vegetarian food and always finds something on the menu however this time she had the fish of the day, Schnapper with roasted vegetables, deliciously combining favourite tastes. Desserts, coffee and freshly baked cake were a lovely finish to a wonderful meal. There is so much variety on the menu and the view is such a delight I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this restaurant. Carolyn Sinclair, Retired Chef/Owner Old Courthouse Minmi
