HORSE RIDING
Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony for Best New Play, is set during the 1960s at a Catholic school in the Bronx. Sister Aloysius, the long standing and deeply conservative Principal, fears misconduct by the recently appointed Father Flynn, a progressive and personable parish priest. The play hinges on what we know versus what we believe, and the power of conjecture on a suspicious mind. While Sister Aloysius is unmoving in her condemnation of Father Flynn, is there enough proof to overcome doubt? John Wood, director of 2014’s God of Carnage and The Boys, assisted by Sally Davies, leads an impressive Newcastle cast of CLAIRE WILLIAMS, LUKE POWER, BRITT FERRY and PRECILA SELUI in NTC’s first production of 2015.

Les Liaisons Dangerouses
The perfect balance of fun & safety, introducing people to the art of Horse Riding
March 14 - 28 , 2015
This play, written by Christopher Hampton in 1985, was adapted from the 1782 novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. The plot, set just before the French Revolution, focuses on the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, rivals who use sex as a weapon of humilition and degradation, all the while enjoying their cruel games. Their targets are the virtuous (and married) Madame de Tourvel and Cecile de Volanges, a young girl who has fallen in love with her music tutor, the Chevalier Danceny. In order to gain their trust, Merteuil and Valmont pretend to help the secret lovers so they can use them later in their own treacherous schemes. Directed by Julie Black and featuring some of Newcastle's finest actors this will be a must see play for 2015.

Kurri Kurri & Cessnock to Wollombi A rich wine growing area During the 1860’s, land settlement was extensive between Nulkaba and Pokolbin with wheat, tobacco and grape growing, the main crops. Coal mining was the principal industrial base of the Cessnock area for over fifty years. The Hunter Valley wine-growing area in Cessnock City is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions and one of the most famous with around 4,500 acres under vine. The vineyards of Pokolbin, Mount View and Allandale, with their rich volcanic soils tended by entrepreneurial vignerons, are also the focus of a thriving and growing tourism industry. The town has a number of fine restaurants, guesthouses and galleries. The Convict Trail is a conservation project that is restoring the convict-built Great North Road. This is one of Australia's national historic treasures. 24
