Allahabad: The City of Multiple Dimensions The hectic city life is something that everyone wants to get rid of. Doing the same thing every single day is monolithic and is also tiring. Allahabad city enjoys a very vital role in the nation's tourism domain. It is so because the city is the spiritual hub of the nation. It is in this city, the union of the Yamuna, Ganges, and Sarasvati rivers, which themselves are the three spiritual rivers in Hindu scriptures. Originally known as the Kaushambi, this city is the second-oldest city in India. It was first ruled by the Kuru rulers and then by the Mughal emperor Akbar. The city always had been a very important city and continues to do so. IAt present, the city is the centre of political, administrative, and cultural domains of north-western provinces in India. The city was also the capital of India for one day.


Tourism is one major sector of the city and whole city's economy was actually built on tourism. However, now the most part of the city's economy is derived from financial services and real estates. But, that doesn't means that the city's tourism has gone down. In fact tourism still occupies a major part of the city's economy.

The city is enriched by a vast collection of medieval temples and places. Allahabad Fort, Khusro Bagh, Swaraj Bhawan, Triveni Sangam, Ashoka Pillar, Kalyani Devi Temple, and Someshwar Mahadev Temple etc. are to name a few. These all are the prime attractions of the city. Along with these, Jawahar Planetarium, Swaraj Bhavan, Alfred Park, and Allahabad Museum etc. are the other good places to visit in Allahabad.

The Kumbah Mela The city is most fun to visit during the festive seasons. Festivals like Navaratri and Krishna Janmashtami etc. are the times when the city actually comes alive. Everyone in the city gets immersed in the holly spirit of the almighty and world-brotherhood. Kumbh Mela, one of the most sacred and largest religious gathering is held in the city. It is believed that during the time of Kumbh Mela, if one takes a dip at the Triveni Sangam, then one can wash all his sins. Magh mela is also organized here on yearly basis in the initial months of the year.

Apart from the major attractions in the city one can also visit parks, museums, forts, gardens, bridges, universities, and many more. Additionally, one also has the option to do some local shopping and taste the local cuisines. It is guaranteed that a tourist gets the maximum fun and comfort whilst his trip to the city.
