Visit to The Holy Ghats of Haridwar Haridwar is a city located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and is considered to be one of the seven holiest places as per hindu mythology. Counted as one of the seven holiest places as per hindu mythology, Haridwar literally means “Gateway to God�. This holy town marks the arrival of the holy river of Ganges into the northern plains the first time after its origin at Gaumukh, Gangotri. The city is an immensely popular pilgrimage for hindus and is quite popular for its 12-yearly Kumbh mela.

As expected, one of the most popular places to visit in Haridwar include Har ki Paudi, which is the famous Ghat on the banks of the Ganges. It is one of the most important landmarks of the city and is famous for its evening aarti. Another soughtafter destination in Haridwar is the beautiful Mansa Devi temple, which is a hindu temple dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi in this holy city. It is located atop the Bilwa Parvat on the Shivalik hills, thus leading to the name Bilwa Tirth for the temple. While you are here, do not miss out on the majestic Chandi Devi temple, which is a hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Chandi Devi. It is situated atop the Neel Parvat on the Shivalik hills. You can also visit the Maya Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Maya. This temple is quite ancient and dates back to the eleventh century. Moreover Mansa Devi temple, Chandi Devi temple and Maya Devi temple together form the three Shakti Peethas of Haridwar.
