The cultivator encourages and assists entrepreneurs with innovative scientific ideas or commercially viable technology to start and grow their companies into successful, sustainable technology businesses. Formerly known as Diamond State Ventures, MADV is now an affiliate of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute at Temple University's Fox School of Business. About Immunomic Therapeutics Immunomic Therapeutics was founded in 2005 as a joint effort between Capital Genomix, Inc. and Johns Hopkins University to commercialize the LAMP Technology for cancer, infectious disease and other targets. The core technology is based on the research efforts of Dr. J. Thomas August that began in the mid-1990’s studying intracellular molecular trafficking in dendritic cells. LAMP was found to locate within the cell in the same compartment as the Major Histocompatibility Complex – type II (MHC-II). It was shown that an antigenic protein linked to LAMP would also migrate to the MHC-II compartment. This observation had important ramifications to the development of DNA-based vaccines and Dr. August and JHU were awarded a patent in 1997 for the application of LAMP to genetic vaccines. More recent research has led to the filing of additional patents covering improvements and enhancements for DNA – based vaccines. Immunomic Therapeutics, Inc. (“ITI”) is a privately held biotechnology company headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland that is commercializing a portfolio of clinical applications based on “LAMP” vaccine technology. ITI offers access to LAMP – based vectors and novel vaccine design through license and collaborative research agreements. More information about ITI and LAMP technology can be obtained from www.immunomix.com or www.immunomictherapeutics.com.
