Gallery and cafe re-design My design concept for this design looks at the River Irwell, which runs alongside the Salford Museum and Art Gallery. My research demonstrated that the younger generation (the target audience) when in space seek the influence of the surroundings, multifunctionality and to gain experience. The concept of this design is based around the features and movement of rivers and water, picking up its key qualities reflection, repetition, levels and connection. Co-Working Design Co-Working is a new way of growing connections and working as a professional. My Co-Working design follows the existing architecture of the Mark Addy through the design of bespoke features such as meeting rooms and Skype booths; additionally, it plays on and enhances the buildings industrial aesthetics while including colours that tie into the interiors and exteriors. For example, yellows, oranges and browns pulled from the brick walls and blue to reflect the river running alongside the building. The fundamental concept of this design is to create an open space to encourage collaboration while giving members the option to adapt the space to crater for how they work with flexible, sliding panels. Box Office Design This design successeded in a live brief competition; my design has recently opened on the ground floor of the New Adelphi Building located on the University of Salford campus. The design of this Box Office focuses on the idea of it being an advertising tool for the theatre while working on the pun of ‘box’ office. It highlights the creativity of the Arts and Media department situated in the building while using existing posters and leaflets to bring colour and excitement to the timber-framed boxes. Additionally, the standard finishes and FF&E features maintain the universities brand identity colours and use existing interior colours of the existing space. Hotel Suite design This Hotel suite design has a demographic specified as Generation Z. The concept of this design focuses on the recognition of the generation being more eco-friendly and expecting sustainable materials in design. However, digitalisation is significant in generation z; therefore, this design takes them away from that and brings them at one with nature. Additionally, the spatial design and division create an experience through discovery, giving users a choice of how they use and travel around the space. Entrance / Reception design Koncept ID - Work Experience During my time on placement with KONCEPT ID Manchester, I was set the task to take a site survey and to design and create a new scheme for there office’s entrance area, using 2D and 3D software. I developed a scheme looking at the companies brand standards and unique ways to advertise by taking advantage of the transparent exterior walls. I created a sample mood board to explore textures and tones that would bring the design to life. I used suppliers I had learnt about in meetings during my time at KONCEPT ID, and this allowed me to broaden my knowledge of Interior Design and the importance of connections within the industry. Penketh Group - Work Experience This project is a product of my work placement at the Commercial workplace design company Penketh Group. I designed a modern-day office to a tight brief, looking at how occupants there will be in a working day and the office requirements. I looked into the demographics and how their versatility as creatives needs to be catered for through open, closed, quiet, and sociable spaces to carry out there day to day work life. Penketh Group works with suppliers in FF&E, therefore creating a new challenge for me to design a scheme with restrictions. However, it opened me up into understanding the industry and working with suppliers. WHAT Commercial workplace design WHERE Penketh Group showroom Manchester- placement WHEN April 2019

Mixed Media Skills
Throughout my College and University careers, I have gained and developed a variety of skills using mixed media. I have used and experimented with machinery, materials, and techniques to produce 3D models and art, along with 2D paintings and mixed media portraits. These skills I have gained have allowed me to understand the importance of detail and depth art and design need and hold.

Community Centre Design This design aims to create a space of leisure and community activity to contribute to the Zion institute and the ‘Nature in Hulme’ development by creating a blurred perspective of the exterior in the internal space. Its design features will be influenced by nature, the course of growth it takes, and its benefits, as well as re-establishing a sense of community and togetherness. It intends to connect users with themselves, the community, and nature to benefit health and well-being, as being close to a city centre can consequence in a loss of individuality and a professional environment overload. This design creates a centre which will generate a multi-functional space that works as one unit to provide the inner city of Hulme with a destination for people to thrive.
