December 1-11: Hartford

Festival of Trees & Traditions, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, 600 Main Street Hartford. Join us in celebrating the holidays by enjoying trees and wreaths decorated by community members, artists, and organizations. All items are for sale and help support the museum’s special exhibitions, educational programs, and operating expenses. Thursdays and Sundays noon-5pm
December 1: Canton
Winter Wonders Tree Lighting and Holiday Stroll, The Shops at Farmington Valley, 110 Albany Tpk., Suite 925, Canton. Kids will also enjoy sugar cookie decorating at Barnes & Noble and adults can enjoy a wine tasting to benefit Toys for Tots at Golf Lounge 18. Farmington High School’s Oriana Choir will perform and a special guest will light the tree. This event is free and open to the public. 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.
December 2-17: Mystic
Lantern Light Village, Mystic Seaport Museum, 75 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic, Be sure to join us for Lantern Light Village “Yuletide Spirits” as we bring to life New England holiday seasons of old in what’s certain to become your next favorite holiday tradition!
December 2-3: Bethlehem
Bethlehem Christmas Town Festival, Town Green, Junction of Routes 61 & 132, Bethlehem. This year’s 41th annual festival includes vendors selling handcrafted items just in time for holiday shopping, a hayride, a scavenger hunt, free musical entertainment, and a 5K Road Race on Saturday morning sponsored by the First Mile Race Management Company. Plus a multitude of delicious food choices to make everyone’s visit complete. Fri. 5 p.m.9:30 p.m., Sat. 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. FREE
December 2-18: Milford
Pantochino’s Christmas Carol, Milford Arts Council The MAC. 40 Railroad Ave., Milford. Pantochino’s Christmas Carol is a shiny bright, fun-filled, topsy-turvy musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. A wild and wonderful, laugh-a-minute holiday experience for the entire family. Fast, frantic and fantastically funny! Cabaret Seating! Bring your own food and drink to enjoy during the show. December 2-January 2: Fairfield
Holiday Express Train Show, Fairfield Museum and History Center, 370 Beach Rd., Fairfield. The Museum is transformed into a winter wonderland, with antique model trains traveling through villages, mountainsides, and snowy fields. Holiday gifts are for sale in the gift shop, and fun, family workshops. Mon.-Thur. 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Fri.-Sun. 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Dec. 26-30 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Closed Christmas Day & New Year’s Day. Free with regular museum admission.
December 3: Mansfield
Winter Welcome 2022 – Mansfield Center, On and around Betsy Paterson Square in Downtown Storrs, 2 Dog Lane, Storrs. The Mansfield Downtown Partnership will host its 10th Annual Winter Welcome on Saturday, December 3 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM in Downtown Storrs. This event is free and open to the public. 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM. FREE
December 3: Windsor
Carol Sing & Torchlight Parade, Windsor Center, 261 Broad St., Windsor. The fun begins with the Christmas sing-along on the Windsor Town Green at 6 p.m., the parade follows. 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. FREE
December 4: West Hartford
Blue Back Mitten Run, Blue Back Square, 65 Memorial Rd, West Hartford. NEW this year, 5K participants earn a pair of warm and cozy, lined winter mittens! (Participants from years past are encouraged to wear their favorite knit beanie race hat). Enjoy holiday cookies post-race in Blue Back Square. Sunday 9:45 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
December 4: Glastonbury
Santa’s 3.5 Mile Run, Glastonbury High School, Hubbard Street, Glastonbury. The race will be held Sunday, December 4th (Snow Date: December 11th), beginning at 12:00 noon at Glastonbury High School. The entry fee is $15 through December 2nd at noon. Registration on the dayofrace is $25.
