February 4: Wilton
Weekend Workshops – Valentine’s Day Embroidery. Wilton Historical Society 22 Danbury Road, Wilton. Exchanging gifts with loved ones for Valentine’s Day is a centuries old tradition. On Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 – 12:00, the Wilton Historical Society will offer an opportunity for kids to create their very own Valentine’s Day themed gift. During this program, participants will design and embroider their own ‘Valentines’ muslin pillows to give out to friends or family on the fourteenth. 11am to 12pm. $10 members; $15 non-members.
February 4: Hartford
Free First Saturday Family PHappy Valentine’s Day! Using historic valentines from the CHS collection as your inspiration, create one-of-a-kind valentines to give to your loved ones! This program is FREE and great for children of all agesrogram: Valentines for Kids. Connecticut Historical Society, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford. Saturday, February 4 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.
February 6: Windsor Locks
Homeschool Day: Fixed Wing Flights. New England Air Museum, 36 Perimeter Road, Windsor Locks. All Homeschool Days include themed scavenger hunts, hands-on activities, and special open aircraft experiences. Homeschool Days run from 10:00 am3:00 pm. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. $10 Adults (18+), $20 (4-17), Children 3 and under free.
February 7: Essex
STEAMgirls at CRM: Ming Thompson, Connecticut River Museum, Steamboat Dock, Essex Village. A virtual program to serve girls, age 10-16, interested in studying the academic areas of STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.Once monthly after school for a four-month period, STEAMgirls participants meet and speak with accomplished young women, learning first-hand about the career successes women are experiencing in all areas of STEAM; providing young girls with knowledge that may ignite their passion for the future. February 10-12: Mystic
Ice in the Vilage. Olde Mistick Village, 27 Coogan Blvd., Mystic. Live ice sculpture carving, a costume contest, and a scavenger hunt are lined up for all ages to enjoy!The wildly popular Ice in the Village event will be taking place once again at Olde Mistick Village from Friday, February 10th through Sunday, February 12th. The village will transform into a winter wonderland with ice sculptures on display throughout starting at 5 p.m. on Friday and will also be extending its hours on Friday and Saturday until 8:00 p.m.
February 11: Ashford
Valentine’s Day Pop Up Shop, Knowlton Memorial Hall, 25 Pompey Road, Ashford. Come pick up some sweets for your sweet! Alicia Lynn Photos will be onsite doing mini photo sessions. There will be delicious gourmet baked goods, jewelry, hand crafted soap and more! Saturday 10am-2pm.

Second Saturdays for Families: Black History Month Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, 600 Main Street, Hartford. In celebration of Black History Month, pay tribute to African American artists’ contributions, triumphs, and creativity. Design a portrait highlighting Black and Brown voices with artist Marsh and delight in a performance by bassist Conway Campbell Jr. Presented in partnership with The Amistad Center for Art & Culture. Admission is free noon–2pm.
February 11: Fairfield
Pop-up shop: Our Woven Community at Fairfield University Art Museum Bellamine Hall, Museum Classroom (LL105) 200 Barlow Road, Fairfield. Join us in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries’ museum classroom (LL105) for a special pop-up shop featuring Our Woven Community. Since 2015, Our Woven Community has brought together refugee women living in nearby Bridgeport through their love of sewing bags and other accessories. Each purchase directly supports the program and each artist. February 11, 2023 2-4 p.m.

Movie Under the ‘Stars:’ “The Lego Movie”, Connecticut Historical Society, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford. Did you know Lego bricks used to be made right here in Connecticut?
Join us for a special showing of The Lego Movie and follow these Connecticut-made toys on a wild adventure! Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets and wear their comfiest footy pajamas! Free popcorn and juice boxes will be provided. Quiet toys and activities to enjoy during the movie will also be available.This program is FREE and great for children ages 6 and up. Doors open at 5:30, and the movie begins at 6:00. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

Celebrate Lunar New Year!, Connecticut Historical Society, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford. Come to the CHS to welcome the Year of the Rabbit and learn about the many ways that Lunar New Year is celebrated today across different cultures. This FREE event. 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

Charity Chowder Cook Off. Olde Mistick Village, 27 Coogan Blvd., Mystic. he popular annual Cabin Fever Charity Chowder Cook Off returns to Olde Mistick Village on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
