Dancing Daffodils: Pick-Your-Own Daffodils, Halfinger Farms, 489 Candlewood Hill Rd.,Higganum. Daffodils represent joy, and picking them is the perfect way to celebrate spring. Stroll through the fields and choose from nearly 100,000 beautiful flowers. Daffodils are .70 each. Call ahead for the daily picking report. Pick daffodils and pick happiness! Daily, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; weather permitting.

April 1 - 2: Westbrook

Atlantic Outboard Open House, Atlantic Outboard, 475 Boston Post Road, Westbrook. Join us at our Open House! Over a dozen boats will be on display indoors from Pursuit, Robalo and Cobia. Saturday 10:00am – 3:00pm – Meet Meigs Point Nature Center! Meet the Duck Island Raft Party Beneficiary this year – Meigs Point Nature Center! A learning experience for all ages!

April 1: Danbury

Gluten-Free New England’s Connecticut Expo, Danbury Sports Dome, 25 Shelter Rock Lane, Danbury. Biggest Gluten-Free Expo on the East Coast! 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m; $20/adult, $5 kids 6-12, under 6 free.

April 1: Hartford

Free First Weekend Family Program: Spring into History! Connecticut Historical Society, 1 Elizabeth Street, Hartford. Families will explore a variety of spring-themed artworks from the CHS collection and then create their own interpretation of spring! The program is FREE and great for children of all ages. Saturday, April 1 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

April 1: Waterbury

“E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” in Concert with the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra. April 2: Middletown

Middletown 10 5K Run/Walk, Union Green, Main Street, Middletown. A springtime road race through the idyllic campus of Wesleyan University in Middletown! Both races loop around campus, while the 5K finishes, the 10K takes another loop before a fast downhill finish on Old Church Street. HMF FitKids Run starts at 10:45 am. 10:45 am - 1:00 pm

April 8: Westport

Chocolate Truffle Making Workshop, Westport Museum for History and Culture, 25 Avery Place, Westport. Our Executive Director, Ramin Ganeshram, a trained chef, food historian and awardwinning cookbook author, will talk about the history of chocolate while you follow along as she teaches you to make your own special treats for yourself or to give as a gift! Tickets $35 for members, $45 for non-members. Saturday 3 pm - 5 pm, $35 for members, $45 for non-members.

April 10 - 14: Montville

Spring Break 2023 at The Dinosaur Place, 1650 Hartford-New London Turnpike, Montville, EVENTS ARE INCLUDED WITH PAID ADMISSION. PARKING IS FREE. April 15: Brooklyn

Go Fly a Kite, Little Dipper Farm, 499 Wolf Den Rd. Brooklyn. Join us for an afternoon of aerial adventure! Bring your favorite kite from home, borrow one of ours and even learn to make your own paper kite to take home! Free to all. FREE 11am – 12:30pm.

Day Out with Thomas 2023 Colors Tour, 1 Railroad Ave, Essex. Thomas the Tank Engine, his buddy Percy, and Sir Topham Hatt are pulling into Essex Station for “The Colors Tour”! We encourage you to purchase your tickets in advance,we anticipate to sell out in advance. Arrive early to enjoy all the included activities! Thomas & Friends will be here on April 22, 23, 29 & 30 with departure times every 45 minutes from 9:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Passengers select a departure time when purchasing a ticket (ride is approx. 25 minutes), but can enjoy fun-filled family activities all day long!

April 22: Manchester

Upcycled Cinderella: An Imaginative Children’s Show. Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road, Manchester. The story of Cinderella is brought to life using household items, recycled objects and physical comedy in a way that will surprise and delight audiences! Saturday, April 22 at 1:00pm, $15.00 General Admission (Everyone age three or older must have a purchased seat.).

April 28: Hartford

Ballet Theatre Company’s “A Children’s Ballet: Cinderella”, The Bushnell’s Belding Theate, 166 Capitol Ave., Hartford. Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) is proud to announce “A Children’s Ballet,” an abbreviated performance of BTC’s main-stage performances open exclusively to children in CT. An abbreviated performance of their 2023 spring production Cinderella at The Bushnell. Tickets are $10/ student and must be reserved by March 31, 2023. For every 20 tickets purchased, one free ticket is granted.

April 28 - 30: Simsbury

Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer 2023, International Skating Center of Connecticut, 1375 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury. Join Scott Hamilton and Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer in Simsbury, CT for an fun weekend of events where proceeds go to Scott Hamilton’s CARES Foundation & CT Children’s Medical Center.
