Welcome to the Careers Service We work across all Imperial campuses, and are located at South Kensington, Level 5 Shereld u B ilding. h T is year we are providing an in-person and online approach to our services, so whether you need advice to complete an application, plan your career, explore postgraduate study options, or are interested in attending appointments or events, we are here to support you.

Register your JobsLive account o J bsLive is the Careers Service’s online vacancies, events, and appointments system. oY u can use it to book your place at careers events, book one to one appointments with one of our careers consultants, and search for vacancies from over 0 , 1 organisations. As an Imperial student you are automatically registered with JobsLive, and can log in using your Imperial username and password.

Set up your profile by clicking on the ‘Me’ tab and adjust the settings to meet your needs. Opt in to receive email alerts about job vacancies and events related to the types of work you are interested in and subscribe to the weekly Careers Newsletter to keep up to date with the latest Careers Service news and events.

Appointments If you need help with planning your career and how to develop your skills book one of our many appointments outlined below. See about us > appointments. Career Discussion (online or in-person at South Kensington) One to one appointments with a careers consultant are great for discussing CVs, cover letters, applications or any aspects of your career. Book via JobsLive one working day before you would like to have an appointment. Careers Consultation (referral) Longer one to one appointments are great for exploring your options and preparing for success in more detail. Referral after an initial Careers Discussion. Mock Interview Practice your interview technique and receive feedback on your performance from a careers consultant. These sessions allow you to specify the areas and questions that you would like to focus on and can be tailored to specific industries and roles.


Skills training and workshops Throughout the year we run regular sessions covering a variety of careers related topics. Join us to develop your skills, learn more about different industries and how to secure an opportunity. Careers Essentials These seminars are designed to provide you with the core knowledge and an understanding of a range of topics such as the different application stages, networking and how to make the best career choices at various points of your degree. Careers Labs In these interactive workshops we will help you understand and gain experience in activities found in recruitment including transferable skills development such as teamwork, assertiveness, and presentation skills. Careers Discoveries Our placement and internship advisers will share their knowledge of different industry sectors and provide you with top tips on how to find and successfully secure opportunities.

Careers Fairs Throughout the year we run sector specific Careers Fairs, providing you with the chance to meet recruiters and find out about the opportunities on offer from a range of organisations. Getting Into … careers talks These talks give you a personal view of working in an industry sector and the speakers’ progression through their careers, with tips and advice to help you to succeed with yours. Focus on … sector weeks A series of week-long events focused on areas such as Science Communication, Environment, Data and Analytics and Enterprise.


Careers Forums These sector specific panel discussions are an excellent way to gain insight into a particular sector, with the opportunity to hear professionals talk about their industry, how they got there and ask them specific questions to help start your own journey. Employer Led Skills Workshops Develop your understanding of the skills typically sought by graduate employers, with the opportunity to meet professionals from a range of employers. Networking events A fantastic opportunity for Imperial students to meet with a variety of organisations. With many events having a strong focus on equality, diversity, and inclusion, students from our underrepresented groups will have the opportunity to meet inspirational speakers from a range of inclusive employers.
