WE ARE CELEBRATING YOUR SUPPORT

Welcome to the President’s Circle.

Making a lasting impact

.

The President’s Circle recognises our committed friends and supporters who make leadership gifts of between £10,000 and £49,999. A donation at this level has immediate effect and helps Imperial to take a leading role in addressing the challenges of the twenty-first century.

We look to research-intensive universities like Imperial College London to make discoveries, educate leaders and develop innovations that bring profound benefits to many. Your support is providing the College with the resources to confront new societal challenges as and when they arise.

Building on strong foundations

In order for Imperial to deliver enduring excellence in research and education in science, engineering, medicine and business, for the benefit of society, we must build on our strong academic foundations and rich history of scientific discovery.

Our work addresses emerging and acute crises such as the rise of antimicrobial resistance and the obesity epidemic, where there is an urgent need for solutions. We are also driven by long-term global issues such as water, energy and resource scarcity, the impact of environmental degradation, climate change, and ocean plastic pollution.

We cannot anticipate all the challenges that lie ahead and this is why the commitment of our donor community is so critical. As a member of our President’s Circle you are providing us with the resources to remain adaptive and responsive to a constantly evolving global landscape.

At the Dyson School of Design Engineering, students are encouraged to combine technical discipline with creativity and are provided with the training to develop globally successful engineering solutions. Philanthropic support has enabled the School to expand its education and research programmes, taking its activity to new levels and audiences.

“At Imperial, I am learning the professional and technical skills needed to realise my ideas and make a difference in the world as a design engineer. This scholarship has given me the confidence to believe in my ability and helped me make the most of my time at university.”

“Philanthropic support has enabled us to take important steps towards building and refining an imaging platform that monitors how the activity of neurons change as Alzheimer’s disease progresses. This will ultimately help us improve understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and lay the foundations for future therapeutic treatments.”
Professor Simon Schultz, Director of Imperial Centre of Excellence in Neurotechnology

Driving future innovation

.

At the White City Campus, Imperial is developing a thriving ecosystem of interdisciplinary research and innovation.

Within the Translation and Innovation Hub (I-HUB), companies are collaborating with Imperial researchers to turn scientific innovations into new products and services. The Molecular Sciences Research Hub is inspiring a new way of ensuring that chemistry transcends disciplinary boundaries to address grand challenge problems, and the Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub will bring engineers, scientists and clinicians together to pursue transformative research into new and affordable medical technology.

In its new home, our School of Public Health will bring together technological innovation, big data, and advances in scientific knowledge, to address some of the most complex health challenges in our own community and around the world.

Philanthropic support has been, and will continue to be, critical in enabling us to achieve our vision for a modern university campus at White City.

WE Innovate is Imperial’s flagship female entrepreneurship education programme, providing mentoring and training for students, to help them gain the skills to develop their innovative ideas. Thanks to the generosity of donors we have enhanced our programme of activities to inspire more female entrepreneurs than ever before.

Taking part in the WE Innovate Programme has been by far the best thing that I’ve done at Imperial. I joined the programme with no real idea of what I wanted my business to be. With the support of staff and mentors, I have created a business which could save both lives and vast amounts of money for industry.”

Saujanya Vruddhula (Life Sciences), undergraduate WE Innovate prize winner
