1. Al Wakrah Stadium, Zaha Hadid Architects, Qatar
Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Al Wakrah stadium is a remarkable architectural realisation that can seat over 40,000 people, with a folding roof that can extend and retract in just 30 minutes. This is one of the projects that will set Qatar as one of the cities with the most major architectural works.

2. Vessel, Heatherwick Studio, New York
The Vessel, designed by the world-renowned British practice Heatherwick Studio, received some very negative remarks upon its announcement in 2016. Nonetheless the public opinion seems to differ as the Vessel is actually dominating all social media platforms. The opening of the project is scheduled in spring 2019 while almost all tickets have already sold out!

3. Under, Snohetta, Norway
Under is an underwater restaurant that can be easily compared to James Bond movies. The restaurant will feature concrete walls with over-range capacity while the structure will host a dedicated area for marine studies making Under an outstanding marine laboratory. The project is located in a small village in Norway and has already begun to accept reservations while the very first dinner took place in April 2019.

4. 1,000 Trees, Heatherwick Studio, Shanghai
The remarkable piece of topography “1,000 Trees” is located in Shanghai and takes the form of two tree-covered mountains. Designed by Heatherwick Studio, this megaproject is being built over a land of 300,000 sqm. The project is expecting completion mid to end of 2019.

5. National Museum of Qatar, Ateliers Jean NouvelUnder, Qatar
Inspired by a local crystal formation called “the desert rose”, the National Museum of Qatar is set to officially open just after spring 2019. Designed by the famous French architect Jean Nouvel, the museum will feature a whole scope of that small nation’s history including the local food, research laboratories, restaurants. Shops and a cafeteria. Once again, Ateliers Jean Nouvel is expected to dazzle the world with the opening of this architectural marvel.
